NYC hotel recommendation

I'm looking for hotel recs in NYC, walking distance from Central Park, museums, shopping, etc.


Anyone have any reasonably priced recommendations?  We usually spend hardly any time at all in our hotel room, so our only needs are clean, safe, and good location.

Have you tried the ORbitz hotel search? I use that all the time, you can sort by location and/or price - they have good deals on well known hotels, especially if you book at the same time you do a flight. :)
