Okay, Collette's weird-o thing she posted made me think of a forward that I received that was really similar. I was in the 98%, how about you?

TAKE A TEST

Follow the instructions! NO PEEKING AHEAD! Do the following exercise, guaranteed to raise an eyebrow. There's no trick or surprise. Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can!

Think of a number from 1 to 10
Multiply that number by 9
If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together
Now subtract 5
Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with (example: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c,etc.)
Think of a country that starts with that letter
Remember the last letter of the name of that country
Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter
Remember the last letter in the name of that animal
Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter
Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange?

I told you this was FREAKY!! If not, you're among the 2% of the population whose minds are different enough to think of something else. 98% of people will answer with kangaroos in Denmark when given this exercise.

Freaky, huh?

I got the same thing.  I'm not really surprised though.  It uses elimination to get the same answers.  And I only choose Denmark since I am not familiar with other countries that start with d.

teehee....you "almost" always with come up with the kangaroos because of one of the coolest math tricks known to man kind. any single digit, when mulitiplied by nine, will equal a number where the two digits will then end up to nine...forcing you into using a country that begins with a d. and as google tells us...denmark is the only country that starts with a d.

9X1=9        9X2=18      9X3=27         9X4=36        9X5=45

9X6=54      9X7=63       9X8=72        9X9=81         9X10=90

 ...eta...oh my god! google lied to me! there was no mention of the dr! liars!

I got an aardvark (sp?) in Canada eating.... what fruit begins with a K?

I cheated though... I didn't want to do all the math so I picked a number and went with it. So I guess my results are inconclusive.

i had an ape in nigeria, eating an eggplant because i couldn't think of any fruits that begin with "e."  i am way off the mark.

*edit--maybe  a lot of people do not get to nigeria because they can do math a bit more accurately than bumblebee can.  oy vey.

OMG, I love Djibouti too! My 10th grade World History teacher used to say it was the one country you'd never forget if you heard it.

Wow I thought so many people would be in the "98%" because whenever I have gotten this forward (which is a lot of times) the person that sends it to me always puts in the subject that they were in the 98%. I guess that means that the girls on stylethread are very special and unique

Oh and the site that I ended up finding it on was actually a website about math explaining how it works: http://www.mathnews.uwaterloo.ca/Issues/mn8901/MOW2.php but I think that was covered already anyways by relrel
