Opinions on Forever 21 clothing IRL?
Permalink Closed

I've never shopped at Forever 21, but I saw some stuff online that peaked my interest.  Has anyone seen these clothes or tried them on?  I know that they're inexpensive, so I'm wondering if they're worth getting.

I'm a little worried about the middle two shirts making me look pregnant.  Does anyone have similar shirts and a larger chest (I'm a C-D cup) that can comment?

Also, I'm up for any opinions you might have on the pieces.  I'm trying really hard to get some practical pieces that I can mix and match and wear for a few years.

Thanks!

In general, F21 is good for inexpensive, trendy pieces.

Their items tend to run small because they're junior sizing, so I usually have to size up.  Also, their clothing is usually pretty questionable quality-wise.  Not everything is bad, but I wouldn't expect it to last more than a season or two.  I'd also suggest hand washing and hanging to try to dry to extend the life as much as possible.

The first shirt you are worried about - I don't think it would make you look pregnant at all.  I have something similar and it's really flattering.  The second one I'm not so sure about.  If you can pull off empire-waist tops in general, this one would probably be fine too, but if they've been a problem in the past I'd say skip that one.

HTH!

I tried on #3 and it was REALLY cute on. I almost got it, but decided on somethig else instead. it didn't give a preggo vibe at all.

#2 is cute but I've tried on several wrap dresses from them and the never fit well. VERY low cut and I'd need a bigger top than bottom (I'm a B cup and around a 4 and I'd probably need a S in the skirt part and a M or L in the top.)

I like a lot of their jersey stuff because it's super soft and doesn't wear out too quickly. Some of the non-jersey stuff only stands up for a few washes before the seams wear out, but I've never minded too much since it's really trendy stuff and I was pretty much done with it anyway by then.

I have a lot of stuff from Forever21. I really haven't had quality issues. It's not designer quality or anything, but it's held up just was well as stuff from the Gap, etc.

I do agree with Shello, though -- I usually buy natural-fiber stuff from Forever21, so maybe that's why. I don't own a lot of the "going out" clothes from there, and I think that stuff is usually synthetic.

Super cute IRL.

Let me know if you have other questions.  I bought both in my standard Forever 21 size.
