I'm glad you're a convert. I don't know what I'd do w/out my poetic wax. Unfortunately, I think you have to buy the full kit every time, which is a shame because I have quite a bit of the cleanser / oil myself. I just don't use that much of it for bikini/lip waxing, and my wax is always gone before I run out of the other stuff. :(

I have such mixed opinions about this stuff and I'd LOVE to hear how you girls get this stuff to work better for you.

I've come a looooooooooooong way since I first started using it. The first time literally left me in tears and was so awful that I almost vowed not to use it again.

I've tried it a few times since then and it's growing on me, but I guess my two complaints are that it takes forever to heat up and that sometimes doesn't come off all at once, in which case it hardens up and then I have to end up picking it off, which REALLY sucks.

I'd love to hear how you ladies get really good results with this.

Hermoine, I like it because it's so much less expensive than paying for a professional wax, and it's by far the easiest at home wax I've ever used.

You don't have to buy anything special to heat it up, except maybe a small pan. You put the whole mug of wax into a pan of water and heat it on the stove. I prefer not to use that same pan for cooking food, so I did buy a separate pan for it.

NCshopper, what kind of pan are you heating it in? I used to use a $5 cheapie pan, but it didn't heat well and I got inconsistent results. Then DH (who knows his pans) said to use a glass pan, and we had a small one here that he never uses, so now that's the "waxing pan" and it does work better (and faster), though you're right - I wish it would heat up even faster too.

I, too, have occasionally had to pick bits of wax off, but I think this is mostly when I am nearly out of wax and due to buy a replacement kit. I don't know if that contributes to the problem. I have found that the hotter the wax is (and the more thickly I spread it - you don't want a paper thin strip of wax to try and remove), the better it works for me.
