santino was robbed. i can't believe i'm typing that but whatever. i think he had the best collection overall. at first i was kind of like whatever, 40's glamour been there done that. but i think it translated well in person. as far as the fit issues...he's had them all along, so i think it's bs to call him on it now. tons of stuff that appears on runways gets altered b/f it appears in stores (marc jacobs i'm looking at you!). if they wanted to cut him b/c of that they should've done it when he made that jumpsuit for kara.

chloe had a little too much 80's going on for my personal taste. daniel had some good notes, but i don't think there was enough bang overall.

i'm curious b/c i didn't watch last season, and i know that jay turned down the money. so i'm wondering if that influenced the decision in that they wanted to pick someone who they know would work with them, and sell clothes.

What a disappointment!  I thought Santino's looked totally professional and "real" designer.  I loved his stuff.  Daniel was second in my book and Chloe was last, which was the complete opposite order.  I liked Chloe throughout the season but her collection was a little too 80s prom queen for me.  Plus I didn't like the fact that her model won.   She has sort of a weird and gawky look while Santino and Dan's models were gooooorgeous.  Booo.

ETA:  didn't read your whole post and just realized we said the same thing about Chloe/80s.  Ha. That pink poofy number made me dislike the whole thing about ten times more.

I'm not sure I really loved any of the collections.  I agreed with the judges on the weaknesses and strongpoints- I really did like the way chloe's clothes fit though.  I liked a couple of santino's outfits- espec. the tweed pants with cranberry shrug- i do wish he had done a stronger collection- it seemed a little muted for him and I didn't understand that third mint dress.  A lot of it didn't go together to me.  Same with Daniel's, though I adored one blouse he did, the one in tonal browns that looked like part of it was a vest.  I would have bought that.  I didn't love all the shiny fabrics in Chloe's collection and thought her basic print long dresses looked a little bland- more rebecca taylor/betsey johnson circa 1996.  The last fabric she used- i think it was her?- that was green and blue- i liked because it reminded me of aerial earth.  Now I want to find that fabric- but i'd make something different with it.  I like how she does her seams as well.

I think I liked Daniel the best overall, but I don't think his collection should have won.  Do they pick based on the last collection?  In that case, I'm not sure who I would have picked- its so hard to ignore how they competed in the past.  When they anounced Chloe's name, I immediately thought "Banana Republic, thats why."  Santino might be too strong minded to work under their direction and its not really his style.  It might become a Jay repeat.  Chloe has strong work ethics/business skills, and her clothes seemed like they could be translated into Banana Republic clothes, so in that sense, I think she was the right winner.  It's kind of like America's Next Top Model- you aren't necessarily picking the most "fashion" or "avant gaurde", but the most marketable, solely because of the sponsor.

Oh - I'm so sad.  I felt like I was watching the end of a basketball game where the game was so closely tied that I just couldn't bear to watch to see who wins.  I really love Santino and he seems as if he totally could have used the money.

I think Chloe's collection was very 80's.  There were a couple of pieces that I liked.  Overall, it just didn't do anything for me.  I thought overall, all the collections were a bit blah and tame.  Jay's collection last year blew my mind.  He had very intricate and creative pieces and I kept comparing them all to his.

Overall, I think Santino is the most creative and talented.  He's got mucho personality.    I hope he does well b/c I just love him.

I already mentioned from part 1 of Project Runway's finale how 80's Chloe's pink prom number was.  I'm glad her model won, she has a look much better than the other two.  I do agree they picked her because she is most professional and will most likely take the prize money.  Though most of her clothes were so-so, they were nicely made.

I thought Santino should have won, his pieces were more what people would actually purchase.  So what if he didn't make like his usual over the top items?  That's what they were ridiculing him during the whole season about!  Now they change their minds?  He seemed a bit drunk or on drugs at the fashion show (even swearing!), what a turn off.  Unprofessional.

I think Tim hid Daniel's purses!  It was quite assured when Tim said it was just meant to be!  It was hilarious!  As for Daniel's line, it was okay but definintly not a winner.

WOW - I was HOPING Santino would win (imagine that), b/c I liked his line the most. I agree w/most of you, how the judges said his collection 'wasn't him'. I think he finally listened to them, and when he did, they still get on him, how odd is that?! I then somewhat like Daniel's collection, he had a few pieces in there I actually liked. And Chloe's - the big winner - I was floored, but again, I liked a couple of her pieces, and that was it. Her clothes fit the models well, and I liked that, but some of them were.......different. I guess the best lady won.

I hated Chloes collection- none of it was wearable at all! I thought it was all kind of tacky looking.

Santinos was good in concept but it wasn't "Santino" and it made the models look fat. I agree with Heidi about the boobs thing too- I said the same thing to DH while we were watching. DH said that he would make good maternity clothes.

Some of Daniels I didn't care for, but there were also a few pieces where I was like "I'd so buy that!". (the white coat and the 13th look in particular come to mind.) I think that's what the fashion show should be about and that's why I thought he should have won.

Wow, I did not expect Chloe to win. I did not like the fabrics she chose. I was really rooting for Daniel. Although a lot of it was not innovative, it was very wearable. I loved the pants with the buttons on the side. I liked how Michael Kors offered him a job. His website is actually up, and I think his pieces will be available for sale soon. Hopefully its not overpriced..who knows.

I definitely did not like Santino's collection. It was just sorta bleh for me. The colors were murky, they didn't fit the models, and it did not look like his point of view. I think that he could have toned down his voice, but in a much more creative fashion. In the beggining of the show, he was talking about being the next great couturier. None of those dresses looked couture to me, I mean they didn't even fit the models, and couture clothing is supposed to be custom made to fit the body...ugh

Did anyone see Kara's runway collection?  I thought out of all four, her's was the best.  The pieces are colorful and interesting.  If she were in the competition, I think she would have won.

Andrae and Tim Gunn at the Red Lobster.  You all know the joke that this is referring to right?

Well I'll be the lone voice here. I liked Chloe's collection and I'm glad she won. I wouldn't have worn some of the stuff she designed, but I liked that she had a style that could be translated into more wearable clothes, as opposed to Daniel and Santino who skipped that step and just deisgned the wearable clothes from the very beginning.

I liked Chloe's colors and her fabrics. I also really liked her lines. I agreed that they were very woman friendly, although I think they'd look much more beautiful on a body like JLo's than a model's body.

Daniel's collection was my least favorite. It was just blah to me. I liked some things in Santino's line but frankly, it looked like I could get everything he designed at a department store, which I don't like. Except for that one brown vest/tuxedo shirt and the green dress (both of which I would have purchased on the spot at any store). But nothing that Daniel or Santino designed was of runway quality, imo.

Yay Chloe! Next time I'm in Houston, I'm definitely going to her shop.

Ha! The Red Lobster thing is hilarious!  I just watched the Kara fashion show.  The judges should have changed their minds and let her win!  Her stuff was 100 times better than the other 3.  I thought she deserved to be in the final 3, I bet after seeing her show the judges probably thought the same thing.
