Is $48 too much for tank tops? I think it is, but I really like these from Generra. I like the colors they come in, and the fit. What do you think? Should I just go with Old Navy or J Crew?

Personally I think it is too much money.  However, if you love the way they fit and the colors and they will last you through the summer I would buy 1 or 2!

for $48, i dont want them to be sheer so... yes, i think it is $$ for a regular tank top.

... and upon an even closer inspection, they look like those hanes tanks dyed magenta! maybe you can do a diy...

I would do it only if you have tried all the cheapy brands first. That one looks a lot like the fit/thickness of the Mossimo tanks at Target...have you looked at those?

I say you can find something cheaper. But that is just imo. I am really cheap when it comes to tanks and shirts though.

It's cute, if you really like it, then go for it, but I've seen some less pricey tanks (like halleybird said) at Target, that could be just as nice.

i tend to buy tanks by the dozen and wear them out really quickly, so i tend to set a maxium of $20 per tank for myself. i personally love the new longer length tanks from old navy (after years of hating their original tanks) and jcrew tanks - both have a pretty wide range of colors available this season. for a basic like a black tank i always go with petit bateau which is a bit pricier, but the quality is really great.

so for me, i'd say buying multiple tanks for $48 each is way too much. but if there is one in a color that you love and can't find anywhere else and you would see yourself wearing it all the time for a few seasons, it's definitely worth it.

Thanks Everyone. I'm going to try the Old Navy longer tanks. In the past I haven't liked their tanks because they loose shape and were too short. Maybe the longer ones will be better.

I usually would say yes too much, but some tanks I have invested. I have a wonderful James Perse one that is sooo soft and I have had it for 3 years and it is still black! I also think that is a little something in spending a lot for something that instantly makes it your favorite and you feel special wearing it, so if it is really nice and worth it, then go for it!
