You sound just like me - I start all my casual outfits with jeans and a white tee, and then layer depending on how warm/cold it is. Here are some ideas:

to wear over a bathing suit to the beach or with a belt and wedges for shopping

These tops would be cute with jeans or a denim mini:

Another quick question, do you think a long (and by long I mean almost floor length) cotton-y dress is to dressy for dinner at night? Everyone else will be fairly casual, dressy jeans and tops. I don't have a dress like that, but am dreaming of finding the perfect one. I wish I knew how to sew my own clothes!!!

Personally, I'm used to dressing different then those I'm around, so that's where I'm coming from when I say, "Why not where what you want despite others wearing jeans?" If you like attention, then stand out from the crowd.

I thought boobs could be an issue for a lot of girls w/the Sweetees dress (it would for me), so you may want to play around w/some camis to see if you can get a cute layered look.
