Vacation help!!!

I'm taking some vacation days the last week of this month and just decided that I'd like to possibly go somewhere. I'd like to go some place beachy, but nothing that's going to be covered with rowdy spring breakers. I will be traveling alone, so also some place that I'll be safe at.

This is probably a long shot, but I'd like it to not be too costly. The closest major airport is ATL.

I don't really know as far as what tropical destinations are closer to the east coast.

Anyways, does anyone have any suggestions on where I could possibly go? I really need to get away and relax.

What about the outer banks,NC. I always wanted to go there, it looks so beautiful, I know that some girls on here have been and they loved it. I don't think it would be to spring-breakish, but it still might be a little cold.

I second the Outer Banks! I live in eastern North Carolina and my husband and I LOVE to visit the Outer Banks during this time of year. The daytime temperature usually isn't too bad at the end of March and the islands are nice and quiet, just a handful of tourists and the locals who live there year round. So relaxing.

Well, if you want to go somewhere warm and beachy solo, I recommend staying at a full-service resort if you're a little shy - somewhere with a spa, places to eat, etc. Last year I went to a little resort about 30 mins south of Cancun (away from the rowdies) and it was great for being alone - I could eat there and otherwise I got pampered and relaxed. And you're safe at a nice resort, as well. I stayed here (a little pricey, but I got a great special, and the airfare to CUN is so cheap it's worth it. I used freq flyer miles, so that helped a lot!) - http://www.ceibadelmar.com

Puerto Rico is great (and safe) as well, and there are some nice resorts right in San Juan. I also stayed at a resort (Wunham El Conquistador) about 45 mins from San Jose, and while it was not necc. my cup of tea on that trip (huuuuge and a little "vegas" with all the restaurants and gambling and so on), it WAS lovely and had a wonderful spa. It would be easy to "disappear" at a palce like tat and fidn your own peace and quiet if you were alone. Again, airfare is V cheap to PR from the east coast, so you can prob get a bit more hotel for your $$$. Also maybe the bahamas? I have never been there, but I suspect it's an easy trip and quite safe.

Atlanta is a great airport for jumping of to the caribbean, etc. You can probably get direct flights to many islands. Also, there are probably a number of nice beachy spa places in FLA. I am sure that you could find a more "adult" resort or spa in a part of FL that the spring breakers aren't hitting, and airfare from ATL would be very inexpensive. Maybe the FLA girls could help with that...

Bermuda would be somewhat chilly in March, though it's an easy trip from the east coast. Worth considering, but the weather could do anything and I would not count on bikini weather. It's the same latitude as VA or NC.
