i haven't taken the LSAT, but if it's anything like the GRE and all the rest of those tests...just do as many practice questions and practice tests as you can and don't stress out if your score dips occasionally...just focus on getting super familiar with the format, and learning any tricks the Kaplan folks might teach you to quickly eliminate wrong answers, etc.

when i took the LSAT, i just took practice test after practice test after practice test.

i think i took about 20. that really helped me get a pretty good score.

I'm taking it in June too. I have a logic game practice book (this is the part of the test that's going to give me the most problems) that I've been using, but other than that I've just been taking practice tests. The LSAC practice tests are the best because they've actually been administered.

Anyway, I'm also interested in hearing how others have prepared. So far I've been doing well on my practice tests but I'm still taking too much time. I really need to work on my speed.

Bebegirl020, are you going to be applying for Fall 2007?

i know it's not the same, but when i took the nclex, i just did a million practice tests/questions. it really helped me break it up by giving me small doses of info, instead of pages of study material. i took an nclex class, and while it was ok, you really have to put in a ton of time yourself. they teach the class in one way, but it doesn't always work in a way that you learn best. for instance, with the rationales...in class, the ladies read it to us, but for me, i like to read it, and see it in front of me instead of hearing it.

good luck. the best advice that i got was that you just have to do it ONCE! once you pass, they can't take it away from you.

Yep. I want hope to go to one of the Chicago law schools because that's where I want to practice when I'm a lawyer, and its also where I am from (currently I go to undergraduate school 2 hours south from Chicago and I cant wait to go back!). Are you applying for Fall 2007 also?

Yep, and probably also applying for Chicago area schools! I live in Southeast WI right now and would like to stay in the general area. DH is from FL though and we've talked about going back so I'll probably also apply to UF and possibly FSU. Northwestern is my first choice but obviously I'm not banking on acceptance so I'm keeping my options open. I keep reminding myself how competitive it is so I won't be disappointed if I don't get in.

I think you're doing the two things I regret not doing-- taking a course and taking the exam early. I guess I'd say that it is just really important to make sure you're really prepped to go into the exam. It counts for so much (more than anything else) and, depending on what you want to do, where you go to school can make a huge difference in career placement. Also, most schools average the scores if you take it again so it isn't great to take it twice.

It sounds like you are on the right track as far as preparing and studying... The only other thing I would recommend is to really practice getting done with each section quickly and in the amount of time they give you. I think thats the hardest part of the exam, the time constraint. And even though you might just make the time in your practice exams, the time always seems faster on Test Day.
