Trend gone wrong?
Permalink Closed

Have you ever seen anyone out and about who is obviously trying out some new trend and just gets it slightly wrong?

I saw a girl today obviously trying to rock the long belted shirt with tights/leggings and boots look. She had an a really cute long tunic belted with hot black boots but instead of tights/leggings whe wore nylons. Like the shear can see your skin through them black nylons. It just looked all wrong. I wanted to go up to her and go "oh no sweetie you've almost got it" but I didn't seeing as how I was out of house and wearing Juicy Sweats UGG boots and a Grail Tee. Looking like a trendy explosion. So for all I know she's on some board somewhere typing about me too. HA! Ok anyways...anyone else experience this?

My Husband coaches Varsity basketball at the High School he used to go to.  It's a Christian school so there are wardrobe restrictions.  Last night was the awards banquet for the players and all the cheerleaders at all levels.  The girls were all trying to be "trendy" and dressed up so they were all wearing like fake uggs and those indian style flip flops (don't ask me why, it's only February for petes sake) But they all had on long or way too big denim skirts because they can't wear mini's.  It was so funny, all these girls who think they are so cool and hot, like we all did when we were in HS, looking like total fashion victims!  Our kids are NOT going to a religious school!! lol

I live in the town where trends come to die. Seriously.

The other day I saw a lady rocking the commuter/Uggs with business suit look. Hott! And her Uggs (actually they were probably Fuggs) were all salt and water stained so they looked really gross.

Today I saw a woman in Macy's wearing silver heels, a gigantor silver bag, and a silver puffer.  Talk about taking it too far.  Her jeans were also too short to be worn w/ heels, but that was a whole other issue.

I was at dinner and I saw a pre-teen walking around in black cut-off leggings, but instead of a mini or shorts over them she wore her cherry print underwear! It was awfully suggestive considering her age...I would not let my kid walk out of the house like that.

Wow - must be the day for it. I saw a girl today with a hot pink "juicy" track suit - jacket tied around her waist, a hot pink & black turtleneck, hot pink tennis shoes & a hot pink baseball cap. She looked like a pepto bottle just puked.

That is hilarious!  Actually it sounds like me in high school (I'm older than a lot of you so bear with me-I graduated in 1990) but I thought I was the hottest thing ever in my white leather outfit (biker jacket with a very short skirt) and either my mock turtleneck (which I wore before I left the house) or my hot pink Esprit bustier (which I changed into after I left the house) underneath.  I look back on those pictures and crack up!  Talk about a fashion victim!
