I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to moisturize before a waxing.

I've only got my legs waxed once, while my friend was going through esthetician school. It kinda hurt but also felt weird, kinda itchy.

Also, it left all these red marks all over my legs. I can't remember the reason why, but it went away by the next day.

HTH!

Take some aspirin about an hour before having them waxed. That should help a bit with any pain. Don't moisturize. Good luck!

Take 2 tums to regulate your skin's PH,it'll help with redness and swelling. And go a bit early, and ask if she will put some steamed/hot towels on first-It'll open up the pore and help it come out easier. Chances are,if you explain your fears to her, she'll be willing to work with you.I do waxing at the salon I work for,and did a guys entire back that way.He said it didnt hurt at all with all the prep work.good luck!

my skin is sensitive also and my estitician told me do not exfoliate for atleast a day before or the wax might irritate your skin.

also, some salons sell satin smooth's spray with lidocaine. it's a topical anesthetic. i had a brazilian done with and without, and it definitely made a difference (without - it was pain personified...with - it hurt but more of a "wax" hurt than "i am dying" hurt). if you plan on getting waxed regularly, it's worth getting.

I am definitely going to get that spray. I heard sally hansen had something similar but I can never find it in the store. I have even considered chloraseptic, as an experiment, but now I dont need to. Thanks for saving me from myself.
