UO Polka Dot Blazer Review!
Permalink Closed

it's awesome! i wore it on thursday and it was so wonderfully sexy yet casual. i went from class at 9 in the morning, to the doctor's office for my annual, to grand rounds lecture, to the bar with an old friend and i felt sexy all day but still really comfortable and good. the material is quite nice and thick, definitely warm enough to wear in the winter. and it also uh, frames my chest area quite nicely. if you are large chested than perhaps the jacket isn't quite right for you, but im medium chested (34B) and its so flattering. i generally get larges in UO tshirts and stuff because i like to have a little bit of breathing rooms, and because i have larger upperarms and sometimes the sleeves are too tight, but i got a medium in this jacket and its really a great size. the buttons are little gray hearts and are so cute, the first time i washed it one of the buttons fell off but i just sewed it back on lickety split. i didn't get many compliments on it (just one, from the undergrad friend but that was because he was super drunk!) but that was probably because i showed up in class with my hair completely cut off a la natalie portman at the golden globes! the gray color is really great, but the polka dots are a yellowy lime color so it's a bit tricky to wear stuff with.

in fact...i would love to hear any ideas with what to wear with it. i have a ton of yellow tshirts in all shades so im not worried that way...but other colors?

this is the jacket...

Lux Contrast Polka Dot Jacket and i wore it with plain black cotton pants from UO, black silky turtleneck from H&M, and a yellow beater from old navy poking out of the bottom of the black turtleneck. so im in all black with a bit of yellow as well. the jacket his pretty high, above the waist of the pants, so you can definitly see the beater underneath. i was a little leary of the black with the yellow because that makes me think of bees and 45 year old women in black sweats with little macrame bees in gold glitter on the sweatshirt, but it worked quite well. im also planning on wearing it with just jeans and a yellow tshirt when its warmer, but it definitely is okay with long sleeves underneath.

hope that helps!!!

Okay, first of all relrel, your posts crack me up.  Little macrame bees on 45 year old women.  I swear I can see them in my mind.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnyway!  Cute jacket!  I've been eyeing that lately.  It's so cute.

I think it would look really great with a pink cotton tank/cami underneath in the summer.  Black, yellow and red would also be cute.  You could also do a kind of 80's look w/ a bright pink (not neon, obvs, but a bright magenta kind of color could look awesome paired with it.

Its really cute. I agree that pink would be good, what about a darker turquoise or teal?

And most importantly, when do we get to see pics of your new 'do?!?!?
