what to wear...ice skating?
Permalink Closed

I have plans to go ice skating one evening at an outdoor rink in a local park, but my 3/4-length winter coat is on the tailored side and doesn't quite say "ready for fun."  What else might I wear to stay warm but still look cute?  Thanks in advance!

ooooh fun. i love ice skating! how cold will it be? can you ditch the coat and just layer some warm sweaters? i was skiing this week and opted to do this instead of a jacket. it was cold, but warm enough to get away with it. i wore a technical long sleeve base layer, a thin cashmere crewneck sweater and a wool turtleneck over top, then a fitted fleece. it was a lot of layers but still less bulky than a coat. OH! don't forget a cute hate... most of your body heat escapes through your head.

It should be close to freezing but not windy.  I'll watch the weather that day and see if I can get away with layers in the evening.  Thanks for your suggestions!
