I'm going on a trip over spring break (mid-March) that is headed up by the English department on campus. It's a Transcendentalist Trip to New England and we'll be going places like Sleepy Hollow Cemetary, Beacon Hill, Walden Pond, various museums, Emily Dickinson's grave and homestead and we'll be stopping in Brooklyn on the way back to walk across and read Walden's Crossing Brooklyn Ferry.
I need to know how to pack and need to get any cold-weather clothing before it's all gone. I have several sweaters and hoodies to take, but I need advice on a good pair of gloves and shoes. I have a black down-filled coat but need appropriate hat/gloves, etc.
What kind of shoes do you recommend for the kind of stuff I'll be doing?
I'm on a college student budget, but have resources to get what I need.
