Is it just me or is his fall collection hideous.  All of the reviews were saying how "innovative" and "ahead of the times" he is, but all I kept seeing was Mary-Kate and Ashley, Homeless Couture in his show.


Please someone tell me I'm not crazy!

I don't like Marc Jacobs clothing in the first place, but I agree it was very "Homeless Couture," as you put it.

Baglady!! it's good to see you post!  OMG-I am so glad you posted this because when I saw the collection I thought the exact same thing you did, but was afraid everyone else would think I was crazy.  Well if they do, at least there are 2 of us!

i'm still on the fence about him. he (usually) has a strong vintage influence so it's hard to see where retro ends & marc begins. but with a lot of his clothes when i see them in the stores i think they're really cute. i think they do a lot of editing b/f it hits the stores.


also i think they styling in his shows is over the top. i'm the type of person that focuses more on pieces so when i looked at his show i just ignored the whole outfit and looked for pieces that i like. in his main line i really like the shape of the skirts that he showed. i also loved this outfit



but at the end of the day to each her own

Agreed with honey.  His clothes are much cuter when they hit the stores.  I love MJ but sometimes I do admit that I hate some of the pieces he showed in the runway.

haha, i keep seeing that MK model around nyc- her name is Mina i think.

anyway, i am ok with this collection only because i like grunge. would i buy his pieces from this collection? no. would i style some of my own pieces in a similar way? maybe.
BUT, i think its so annoying that everyone thinks MJ is the ish. if you read style.com, its all about kissing his ass. i think he gets too caught up into the celebrity aspect of designing, but i guess thats fabulous if you're, well, fabulous. but i guess that helps sales. everyone wants to go to his parties. hell, i'd want to go. but i def. think he's not as talented as other designers.

Individually, some of the pieces are okay.  That blue dress is kinda pretty as is the red bag.  But I'm just not feeling the way they paired the pieces. 


This though?  Seriously?  Awful.
