Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil (Long)
Permalink Closed

Has anyone else ever used this? I have DRY skin, so I was talked into buying this. At first it really freaked me out and I was afraid to use it. I mean, cleaning my face with oil felt so weird. Then I started using it and I really loved it. My skin felt great. I could get away with using less intense moisturizers. Well now I feel like my skin, which except for being dry, has always been one of my better features, is such a mess. I have dry and oily patches, ruddiness, I break out more often. And my nose is so oily! At first I thought it was because it was that time of month, but looking back I never had skin this bad. Anyway, I think I should go back to my old routine, which was Origins. I quit using it because my skin was still kind of dry, but I'd rather have dry skin than this skin! Has anyone ever used a product that wreaked havoc on them like this?

dermalogica did that to me - I kept using more of the stuff because my skin kept looking worse, and finally it clicked in my head that maybe I should STOP doing something I was doing. I had a much more brief run-in with Cliniques toner, too. Now it's pretty much neutragena and ROC most of the time, although I'd like to find something more high end when I'm out of school and have the money.

how disappointing! i tried a cleansing oil once from origins and i remember feeling like it made my face dirtier too. my worst experience was with a line called aura science, which the company i used to work for made, and i got the whole line. all the products smelled great and were packaged really prettily, but it gave me really bad breakouts too. my skin is generally on the dry/sensitive side with infrequent breakouts, like yours. i always go back to cetaphil, no matter what high end brands i try. have you tried that?
