too short? (part 2 of denim mini)
Permalink Closed

I was at the mall tonight and had a bit of time to browse, so I just went into a few stores. I wanted to check out the denim minis I posted about since the mall had both a J. Crew and an A&F.

The J. Crew one is WAY too long...it hits maybe two inches above the knee. I have short thighs and longer calves so that's not surprising but definitely disspointing. Total disaster.

I went to A&F to try on their minis. Of course I was instantly drawn to them. I took my digicam into the fitting room and took these.

So is this too short for a mini? Or just right? I have no sense of judgment when it comes to these things so I'm relying on you girls to tell me if I look like a normal girl or a streetwalker.

I, too, like the one on the left. I think you can always go shorter if you are going to be wearing leggings under it (or tights), but I think the length is okay on you in general. It looks like it hits mid-thigh, which definitely doesn't look too short.

And I love that you took pics in the fitting room! You crack me up!

I think I'm going to be the only nay here. It looks cute on but I'm afriad what will happen when you sit down. I would try sitting in them first and make sure they donn't ride up too much.

I agree with Collette. It looks like you'd have to constantly be worried about it coming up.

While they're cute, I think they're too short.

I think they might be too short but it's hard to tell for sure with the dark skirt and the dark leggings (this monitor kind of sucks).  They both look fine in the pictures but I agree with the girls who say you might have problems sitting or bending.  Would either skirt be way too big if you size up?  When I bought my last denim skirt I went up a size so that it would sit lower and be a little longer.  I do this with shorts all the time.

Yeah, I was worried about them riding up when you sit, too. You look good standing, though.

I don't mind the length with the leggings -- I think it's cute. But if you plan to wear it alone, it needs another inch or two IMO.

those are both my usual A&F size (4). I've always had problems in the past with buying skirts too big and them always riding or bunching up on me so that's why I've started to buy the smallest size that fits. I do like sizing up on shorts...I almost bought a pair from F21 that had the perfect amount of sluch when I sized up.

halleybird, I don't plan on wearing it alone...I'll probably find lighter colored leggings for the warmer months. I am not quite brave enough yet to run around in minis with my thighs hanging out.

I'll only be young enough to wear skirts this short once, so I'll probably get the one on the left for myself as a summer treat. Thanks for all your help!
