I made $100, but I was really dissapointed how low I had to go to sell my stuff. I swear almost everything I sold went for 50 cents! And they were my daughers brand name newborn clothes, she only wore some things once or twice so they were brand new. I looked up some of the clothes on ebay and they were selling for 3-4 dollars a piece used. I also sold my brothers Levi's Jeans, he lost a lot of weight within 12 months, so he hardly got any wear out of them. I was asking $5 and I no one wanted them, I ended up letting them go for $2 a piece! I also checked on ebay and they were going for about $8 ea!
I think it was the area, we live in an apartment so I had to lug my stuff across town to my friends house. She kept telling me that around that area there are a lot of low income families and I wouldnt get more than 50 cents for a piece of clothing regardless of whether they still had the tags attached.
But for the $100 I made and the little amount of stuff I actually got rid of, it went well for a 1st timer. I was definitely a learning experience. We're having another one in 2 weeks, and this time I'm taking out all our new stuff & selling that on ebay. The other junk I don't mind selling for 50 cents.
I was just wondering because we're supposed to be having one too & i wonder if it's worth the trouble. I will be putting my stuff in someone else's sale but it will still be work. Interesting!
