I am ordering some of these cool Wall Words for my bedroom (they end up looking like painted-on quotes). They will go above my bed, between the posts, instead of the silly valance I have now.

I haven't chosen a quote yet, but I need a good font first. (Quotes + fonts are two of my favorite things, so this is a big deal.) Which do you like for my bedroom? link I am leaning toward a couple, but I am just not sure.

For the particularly ambitious, I'd love thoughts on colors too. My walls are a little darker than they look in the pic -- sort of chocolate-milk colored in real life. And my furniture isn't quite as red-toned as it looks in the pic.

Here's my bed: doobedoob

Is my favorite for your room.

I am liking the matte dark brown and matte metallic gold.

I just realized that you can do a preview.  I also like this one:

I thought it looked like Thomas Jefferson or someone's handwriting at first, but I really liked the preview of it.

perhaps i'm boring, but i like the roman font.  it looks clean and elegant- some of the others i liked in small doses then looked at the sample- whoa!  i wish there were more clean fonts like the roman but maybe a little more interesting or bolder.  i think it also depends on if you're going to do a long quote, or a short one like the work is love made visible quote.  The italics/cursive ones might be cute in a long quote.

I like these ones (in order) mainly because they're pretty and they're gender neutral:

This one is cool too, but I feel like it's a little hard to read:

As far as colors go, I like the Matte Dark Brown, Matte Metallic Copper, and Olive Green.

P.S.  I'm sitting here with my husband and he thinks the Outkast quote "Where are my panties?" would be REALLY funny.  Where is there an eye rolling icon when you need one???

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! That would be beautiful in a script font. LOL!

As for the quote, it won't be long. I want something that can be done in two lines or so. The arch on my bed is sort of high, so I can't do anything long without overcrowding the area.

Here are some quotes I am thinking of. Since it's our bed, I was looking for stuff with either a "love" theme, or a sleep/dream theme, or something semi-inspirational. I really like this one: "Finish each day and be done with it. Tomorrow is a new day, begin it well." - Emerson. But my SIL just got the exact same one at her house. So I was hoping for something different.

Some of my other favorites:

Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence. -H. L. Mencken.

The years teach much which the days never knew. -Emerson.

It was such a lovely day I thought it was a pity to get up. -Somerset Maugham.

There is nothing like a dream to create the future. Victor Hugo.

Lord grant that I may always desire more than I accomplish. Michelangelo.

I can also pick my own quote, but the price doubles.

I think the  is nice. Are the lamps on your nightstands silver? If so I think silver would look nice to kind of bring that color out.

My picks...

Probably Roman. I think if you get into too much cursivey handwritten stuff it can look cheesy. Like the cover of a cat lady's journal or something.

LOL, I guess we know what quote I should use! But you guys are as indecisive as I am about the font. I may ask my MIL (aka, my personal decorator ) to choose it for me.

I really like handlettering, but I don't think I should use it, because I have another quote downstairs in that font. For anyone who's curious, here's what it looks like IRL (excuse the construction project going on in my backyard):

I could see it done in chocolate with a cream highlight
You want something whimsical and light for a font. I got the one above at veer.com. That is where we get most of our fonts for work.

Edited: Font is called Stephanie Marie

i just saw this.  i don't know if you already ordered, but i vote for the somerset maugham quote, too.

i have something over my bed, too, but i ordered mine from wisedecor.com.  their prices are pretty good.  i got this font, called "french script":

but i used all lowercase, because a boutique near my house had their outside sign done the same way and it looked so cool.  i copied them.  i like it because it's not very curlicue or fancy--just simple, but less boring than arial or something.

Thanks, LA Gal! I was just looking at those the other day. I showed my husband and he was like, "no more quotes, honey." LOL
