I have seen various necklaces with a key pendant in magazines etc, but was wondering if anyone had seen some online for $30 or under? I looked on eBay, but they either had hearst on them (yuck) or looked like an actual functioning key.
There is this one from Urban Outfitters for just under $30, but I don't really like the design of the top.

I really like the one that the girl that runs Stylediary has, but I think that one is Jessica Elliot or something and is like $180. No thanks. Have you thought about getting an antique skeleton key on eBay and just buying a ball chain to hang it on? I've thought about doing that but have never gotten around to it. Whoops.

Yes, I've see the StyleDiary one. Cute, but too much $$.
Maybe I'll check out a local antique store... thanks for the idea NCShopper! Sometimes I get so caught up with the idea of the internet, I forget about stores in my own town.

I have an antique key I stole from an armoire in my hotel room in Manaus, Brazil (I was young!) I looped leather cord around it and tie it in the back. I would suggest going to antique stores and asking if they have a box of keys (most do, they are keys for cabinets or clocks) and see if you can find something unique there. You can buy a packet of jewelry links from any craft store to create a bale, and hang it on any cord or chain necklace.
