ugh.  this isn't something i usually focus on, but i think it's disgusting how we are showering these kids (and we do it w/ adults too) which such a sick excess of money.

and when i think of how such a very small teeny piece of that would help so many different people (i.e. me!) i get very very frustrated!  how do i become famous?

I love how Paris Hilton gets $6.5 million for seriously doing nothing.  Seriously.  She goes to parties and steals peoples boyfriends and gets $6.5 million.

Yeah, that's fair.

Wow, athletes make more than actors.

it actually makes me feel a teensy bit better that the athletes are making more than say, Frankie Muniz or especially Paris Hilton (occupation, Personality...gah).  i can't really explain it but it does.  i mean, the athletes at least can't be partying quite as much, right?  could you be bulimic and do coke and still perform on the court/field/etc.?  eh, i'm probably just naive...

i think its sick that athletes make what they do too. but we're the ones paying them and the REAL profiters are the movie studios and sports team franchise owners. GAH.  but again, we're paying them. anybody wanna buy a sports team with me??

i had the same thought when i first read this.  i think it makes you feel better because you know that those athletes are out there working hard for it and training and winning matches/games.  it's much harder to "luck into" an athletic-superstar career--you've got to have natural talent, but you have to work really hard, too.

Warning:Totally joking here.

But...I can't help but think it might be time to drop my son off at the nearest talent agency! :)

Or drop myself off there...I can still pass for a young'un, can't I?

Actually, when I was young, I used to model for Kohl's ads when I was 11 and 12.  I made about $60 an hour and each shot took about an hour-and-a-half but they always paid me for two hours.  I went to a talent agency where you didn't have to pay for the service.  I also had no training, though after awhile, I did get professional shots done for the model book, which I am sure my mom had to pay for.  You could try this to supplement your income.  It's not too hard to get into and it is kinda fun.  Your son is really cute, I bet they would like him.  I think MissMee has gotten her daughter into modeling too, maybe she will have something to say about this.

No reputable talent agency should charge clients for their services. That's why they always take commission...they don't make money unless you book jobs.

I promise I won't get into too much of a tirade...I have way too much beef with a number of these kids. I used to work at a talent agency and I dealt with these kids on a regular basis. Most of the time the kids are so f**ked up I really feel sorry for them. Generally, it's a reflection on the parents not raising their kids well. So many people are drawn to the allure of fame and money (the two biggest evils). The worst is that as these kids get more famous/get richer, they usually end up more miserable and the people around them get greedier and greedier.

*end soapbox*

that said, leah_leanna, your son is a cutie and would probably do really well. young kids get a lot of print work for catalogs and such.

You are right Lilykind. Alot of these young stars seem as if they have no one around them that care about anything except for their money. It is really sad.

I agree about Paris Hilton. If a normal girl sleeps with every guy and makes her own porn tape, everyone in town would call her a slut. Paris does these things and makes $6.5 million!! The funniest thing in the world to me was when her mom had her reality show. Don't get me wrong her mother seemed perfectly nice, but do I really want someone who raised a hoochie like Paris teaching me to have class!!

This is a whole other topic from what everyone's talking about.

I was pretty suprised to find that Hilary makes more than Lindsay..  I've always had a feeling that Lindsay was jealous of Hilary.  BTW, Hilary even makes more than the Olsens.  Because after they split it, they've got 10.5 mil, but that's pretty darn good considering they can still find time to go to school (one of them at least)
