OK, I went shopping for winter coats on sale yesterday and had NO LUCK!!!  I wanted to cry!!  They have so many beautiful ones out there, but none that seem to fit my build.  I am looking for a black or cream coat, but I don't want the black one to be wool.  Black wool coats are like a magnet to all my dogs white dog hair, not to mention hair, lint and whatever!!  But, my big problem is that I have very large boobs and a big butt, but a tiny waist, i am also 5'2.  I want a button down coat that hits right above my knee or a bit shorter with something that gathers the waist so it isn't just a straight coat, those make me look like a box.  And all the ones I find are either way longer then my knees so I look like a little girl in my mommy's coat, or the pea coat types make me look like a big box with a head and legs.  HELP!!!! 


More info, I want something that is like $200 or less, something that I can go and try on, so nothing off the internet, and I already tried JC Penny, Carson Pierie Scott, Wilsons Leather, New York and Co, and Marshall Fields.

I'm sorry you're having a tough time .  Coat shopping is one of my ultimate frustrations, too.

If you have a Banana Republic Outlet anywhere near you, they have some beautiful coats in the $100-140 range. They hit about knee length or a little higher. I bought a sweet boucle knee length coat in a creamy white for $112 not long ago. It's a nice fit too, slimmer in the waist with a little kick at the bottom.

You sound like you have the same body type I have.  I also tried on every caot out there, and found ONE that worked.  But that ONE is AWESOME.  It's from BAnana Republic, but it's no longer on the website.  I got it in a camel color, it's a wool blend.  Very simple style, but fits better than anything else I've ever tried.  I'm also only 5'1", but the only tailoring I need to have done on it is to have the sleeves shortened.  I'd definitely recommend going to Banana.
