Whoa was there a lot of stuff in last night's episode!!!  Damn!  We need to discuss.

What is up w/ Eko?  Throughout the whole episode I was thinking that he'd been on the island before and then made it off the island somehow.  But I guess that's not the case.  So how did he know about his brother's plane crash?  I mean, I know he saw the Virgin Mary statues and all, but those things are pretty common, so how did he know that those were the ones from his brother's plane?

The black smoke?!?!?!?!  Holy crap that was so creepy!  And did anyone else see Walt's image in the smoke?  It was definitely there.  So is the black smoke the monster?  I'm confused.  That gave me the creeps big time.

Also, as my husband pointed out, Nigeria is a hell of a long way away from the South Pacific.  There's no way that plane could have gotten there without stopping to refuel.  So either a) the plane refueled, or b) they're not in the South Pacific.  Any thoughts?

ETA:  So I was just poking around the Lost boards and those images weren't of Walt.  Someone got some screen shots, so I'll post them.  Whoever did the screenshots lightened some of the images so we could see better and labeled them.  Here's the link if you want to see them all:  http://lost.cubit.net/pics/2x10/

I want to know how he knew that charlie's statue was what it was before he even saw it. talk about jumping the gun!

there were all sorts of images in the smoke if you watch it on slow-mo. it was weird.

did eko's borther know it was goign to crash? why did he try so hard to keep him off the plane?

and charlie's stash makes me sad...even though I don't think he's using them, I don't like that he's hoarding them.

that makes me sad too.

I think the brother just didn't want him involved in the whole drug thing at all. Not that he knew the plane would crash.

Also, now I don't know what I'd be more scared of - the creepy smoke or the guy it ran from (ecko)!!

The best part of the whole show was when Charlie said, "what are you going to do, beat me with your Jesus stick??"  It was so funny, especially because he didn't know Eko could slice two guys' throats in one swipe.

i was disappointed about charlie, too--i had been thinking that he was such a good guy.  i thought the fact that he lied several times so seamlessly and didn't seem to feel bad about it, and then had been hoarding those statues secretly is a sign of bad things to come--i think his dark side has been hidden but it's still there.

it was nice that there was hardly any kate on this episode--she bugs me.

and i feel like michael is close to going off the deep end--although, who could blame him, with being distraught and panicked over walt.  poor walt.  does anyone think the person IMing him on the computer is really walt? who do we think it is? desmond? the others?

and i can't remember if this was in the repeat episode or the new one, but whoa!  ana lucia knew who one of "the others" was (the guy she killed with the wooden stake) but she never told anyone?

I'm not sure it's Walt.  My reasoning is that if it is Walt, then he and the Others would have to be in another Dharma facility, near a computer.  And would would have to know how to use the computer.  Those computers look like they're pre-1980s, before Walt was born.  I doubt they work like regular PCs that Walt would be used to using.  I don't think the Others would leave Walt alone w/ the computer.  My guess is that if he's not dead, they put him with the other kids.

Also, the new video footage that they found at the other hatch said that the computer was *never* supposed to be used for any purpose other than entering the numbers, and *especially* not to contact the outside world.  It sounds like an experiment to me.

bastet--that's what i mean--i don't think there's any way it can really be walt--but i wonder who it actually is who is trying to make michael think he is talking to walt.  i would think michael would be too smart to just believe that it was walt, but whomever is talking to him is obviously exploiting his grief and worry.  it's totally going to get them all in trouble.

the person who cut and re-spliced the film had to have been a dharma initiative person, probably a peon stuck in the hatch like desmond.  so the fact that they didn't want the next person (probably their replacement) to see that part of the tape and to know that e-mailing out was dangerous, means that they were trying to sabotage either that person or the whole project.  weird.

Here is a brief summary of my thoughts. I'll post more later when I have time.

I definitely do not think that it is Walt on the computer. In fact, I don't think it's anyone on the computer.  When Michael was talking to Jack, he didn't touch the computer the entire time, but when Jack came back around and they showed the screen, it was blank. I think Michael is getting the sickness.

I'm rewatching the episode tonight, so I'll have more thoughts on Eko later on. Must get back to work. I just wanted to quickly post my Walt/computer theory.

i agree with jj and laken1, the "hit me with your jesus stick" was so f'n funny.  although it got that damn 80s "hit me with your rhythm stick...hit me...hit me" song stuck in my head afterwards.  anyway...

nyla - i found the perfect tote for you, you NEED it.  it's only $17:

Lost Numbers Tote Bag

heehee!

i don't think it's walt on the computer either, though michael getting the sickness hadn't occurred to me either.  now that nyla's brought it up, though, i agree with her!

i love mr. eko and therefore loved last night's episode.  it is a little fishy how he *knew* as soon as he heard about the statue, but so many things on this show are like that that it doesn't even phase me anymore.

i'm concerned about charlie stockpiling the drugs, too.  and is it wrong of me to enjoy watching jack get all sad when he sees kate with sawyer?  because i do.

the one that killed all of rousseau's group (wtf happened to her, by the way?), and possibly the one making shannon (and sayid) see walt, kate and sawyer seeing the horse, etc...

I liked last night's episode and I just KNEW Eko was going to brave the black smoke/monster if it showed up, but I was so annoyed by the side storyline dragging out Michael's computer communications!  We got a whole, what, two phrases more than we had back in November from the supposed Walt?  I want it to be a real person communicating with Michael, I hope it's not the sickness or all in his head.

Are we ever going to get some more reference to Danielle and those scratches on her arm that Claire remembered leaving?  I am always excited when I see Claire featured in an episode, so when she was just a lead up to the Charlie mess, I was a little disappointed.

Actually....come to think about it, I want to know about a lot of untied strings, I hope they don't take another season break anytime soon.

Hmm...I never thought about Michael having the sickness, but that makes a lot of sense.  He just doesn't seem right right now.  I mean, I know he lost his son and all, but he seems like he's on the edge of losing it.  And it makes a lot more sense that he's got the sickness than it does that Walt's talking to him via the computer.

I want to know what happened to Rousseau too.  I'm sure she'll turn up again though, probably when we don't expect it.

I liked last night's episode! Eko is great, and he plays off Charlie's energy well. I'd like to see more Eko/Locke interaction. And Eko has more backstory coming, since we didn't see him get on the plane yet. Plus, he must be a good guy, b/c the Others tried to take him along with the rest of the "good" survivors.

Jack is starting to annoy me with his Superman, "Don't-worry-Michael-as-soon-as-we-can-we're-going-to-go-save-Walt" junk. I can't wait to see more backstory on him, because his halo is blinding me a little.
