I'm just needing to vent - in the four years we've lived in Georgia and DH has worked for the SAME employer - but every year they either switch insurance co's or make us switch plans...and every friggin' year there is a hitch with the coverage.

Right now I do not show up on the med plan, so Rx's that need to be filled and lab work that needs to be done won't be covered...DH got his new ID card this week but do I have one? Nooooo...

So I call our insurer and they don't show either of us in the system. Bah! I called the appropriate person (at least I hope) at DH's work and left a vm.

There's really no point to this post except to vent - this has happened every dang year and of course, I have stuff that I tried to squeeze in in December before the plan changed but it's the busiest time of year for me, so it always rolls over to January...and then is further delayed because of this crap.

WHY can't people just get things done when they are supposed to?? I hate stuff like this that's out of my control and is a time-suck when I could be doing more productive things!

~end rant~

There...I feel better just for typing it out.

Yuck! I hate health insurance companies.

The same thing happened to me! My co. just switched providers and somehow my paperwork got lost in the shuffle. Basically I was completely un-insured for weeks. Idiots!

Basically I was completely un-insured for weeks

Yeah Joceybaby, I just found out today that I *should* have a medical card in ten days. That means I have no coverage through most of this month...Hello!

The company did say that they are working through "numerous" errors with the insurance co. Which doesn't surprise me, though in this case I fault DH's employer too - they did open enrollment in mid-December (usually it's in early November) so I don't know how they expected the ins. co to get us all enrolled in the biggest holiday month of the year. Bleh.
