BR pants
Permalink Closed

I just wanted to say that although BR has finally started to make hemlines long enough for me to wear with flats, I can officially no longer fit into their pants.

I tried on a DOUBLE ZERO last night and it was too big. The zeros were literally falling off of me. I am not a large person, but I am not that small, either! I wear a 26 in jeans, and am probably a "true" size 4 or so. This is ridiculous! I love Banana, but I would like to please wear their pants.

rant over

Know how you feel.  I love their pants, but really, you'd think they would make pants small enough  so certain girls can fill them out.

My theory is that they think they will sell more pants by thinking your average woman can wear a pant that's tag says size 0 or 2 they will be so excited and buy it even though they would look exactly the same if the tag says size 6.

Oh no!  I was getting my hopes up that I could finally buy pants from BR with the new 00 sizing!  Most things in that store is HUGE on me.

Ok, that's weird. I'm a 25 in jeans, and can wear a 0 or a 2 in BR pants. A 00 would just never happen - I'd have to drop at least 5 pounds. But I think their sizing is all over the place. Maybe another pair of pants would work. But don't sweat it. I think their quality has gone downhill quite a bit.

Yeah, I have been having this problem for a while, in almost every brand it seems. Their sizes are so off. I am a 24 in Jeans, and trying to find pants that fit me is a nightmare.

00?  I haven't seen that yet.  Maybe that would fit me because I was just lamenting that the size 0s I have on now are getting too big.  Why do all of their pants have to stretch so much?

Okay, I have the exact OPOSITE problem... BR pants are always too small for me. That's weird that everyone thinks they run big, because they never are big enough for me.

yup... I remember going there a couple years ago and suddenly, magically, without having lost any weight, I was a four instead of a six, and a couple things I even had to get a 2 in. I am 100% nowhere near a 2. I am a 6 straight up! I found myself wondering at the time, what the hell do tiny women do if someone my size fits into a 2? Apparently, tiny women don't shop at Banana any more!

I agree.  About 2 months ago, when BR had their last big denim sale, I ordered a whole box load of jeans, and the discrepancy between the sizing was ridiculous.  One pair I tried on was labeled a size 2 but had to have been a mistake because it was more like a size 10 or 12.  Other size 2s were obviously too big, while some I couldn't even pull over my ass.  Even the jeans I ultimately ended up keeping have stretched out so much that they're too big (even when I wear their for the first time after a new wash).  I guess I'll just keep trying, since it's so hard for me to find pants anyway, but it is an exercise in frustration.

I just want to clarify that when I graduated college in 2002, I bought tons of BR pants in size 2, and they all fit the same. I eventually gave them away, because I really needed a 4. And now I can't fit into a 0. I know their pants are sized differently, but I have probably tried on 10 pairs (mostly 0s, and the pairs of 00 I posted about above) in the last few months, and they were all too big.

Of course, I remember wearing a size 3/4 in Express when I was in high school (and about 5-10 lbs lighter), and now I am a 0 there too. I feel sorry for you girls who really are sz 0s!
