Whoa, Star Jones!!!
Permalink Closed

Okay, to preface this, I never watch The View, so I had no idea how much weight Star Jones had lost until I saw this on People.com.  I think she looks great!  She says in the article that she won't tell anyone how she lost the weight because she doesn't want anyone to try what she did and have it end up fatal.  The article also provides more information than I ever wanted to know about her sex life, so I'm feeling kind of queasy at the moment.

I think she looks great.  Also, is it just me, or does she kinda resemble Nicole Richie now?  There's something about her face or hairline or something that reminds me of Nicole.  Who would have thought!

From what I've heard it sounds like she lost it through gastric bypass surgery, which is fine, whatever, but it's not something I exactly respect. Also, she's got a serious drag queen look going on in these pics from Perez Hilton...

Not to mention a horrible personality. Overall, I'm just not a fan.

She needs to tone down the eye makeup big time in those pics!!!  Her neck is kinda creeping me out.  It looks like a bone is just gonna pop out.  Eew.

im very happy for her that shes lost all that weight, but she SO stupid for not telling us how she lost it. (I hate her) but im sure she has fans out there somewhere that are heavy, unhealthy and would love to know how she lost it. and then let them decide if they want to follow what she did to lose weight. i know shes said "its noones business", but ca'mon!

you know what, i kinda respect her for not talking about it and keeping her private business private.  i'm really really sick of hearing every tiny detail of celebrities' weight loss, pregnancy, marriage, whatever--any of the nine-million different personal processes that they all seem to document everywhere in pursuit of publicity.  and 9 times out of 10, it's all bullshit created by a publicist anyway.

i don't know--i've always thought star jones was such an attention-whore, but i respect her for not blabbing all over about it.  i like her more now.

private? hmm. this is the same woman who has a book out now that discusses her life, courtship with Al, etc. This is also the same woman who solicted donations for her wedding -- on her show.

I don't know her, but what i've seen of her, I don't like her.

I've always thought that she looks like Divine from the John Waters movies.

ooh--you are right--i totally forgot about the icky love-life stuff i read somewhere that was excerpted from her book.  gross.  so i guess she is one of the over-sharers, she is just keeping the weight-loss story to herself--so never mind then.

It's so funny you posted this, because I don't normally watch the show, but I was flipping and stopped the channel because I thought they'd replaced Star with someone skinny... She looks DIFFERENT. I'm happy for her, but she looks sort of weird. Before she seemed more like someone that woudl be fun to talk to, even though she was obviously a little nuts. Now, somehow, she looks more nuts. Why is that? Like she was a nicer person fat? (And I'm a size 0-2, so I dont' mean to be a reverse sizist).

I agree!  She looks like a bobble-head doll or something.  Like her head is too big for her body now.  IMO she's too small for her frame now, even though she's not that small.

i really loathe her. i think what gets me most is that she's the type of person who acts all holier than though just b/c she got her s**t together. whatever. having enough money to get your stomach stapled does not make you a better person,  just a richer one. and i totallly thing she didn't cop to it b/c she had to pay for it out of her own pocket. i'm sure if she had gotten it for free she would totally be singing the praises of whatever dr. did it for her. and on a final note, i think her husband's gay. boy, i'm bitter today.

It's funny that you say that because on one of the recent holidays I flipped on the TV and The View was on, and I thought they got someone to replace star. Then I heard her voice and I did a double-take. I didn't know she lost so much weight!

She is scary looking now. I do see a Nicole Richie effect, where the eyes kinda look sunken.

i just need to add to this little thread because star and i have our own personal issues that go way beyond the whole bobble head thing she's got going on now.

i worked for payless for six years of my life (some good, some bad but that's neither here nor there) and eh, midway through or so payless decided to make star thier spokesperson. whatever, everybody knows that she don't wear the shoes and it's a money thing, again, neither here nor there. my issue is that for a considerable portion of my adult life i had to listen to people say "wow, ya know, payless is really starting to come up (you must smack your teeth while saying this) ever since star started designing the shoes". really, do you really really think that star was designing shoes for payless? (totally discounting the fact that payless, duh, does not have an inhouse designer but buys the shoes from the same wholesale designer person who makes all discount shoe brands) i mean, really? it was so freaking hard to daily have to listen to idiots exclaim over star and her shoes!! they are not her shoes! she did not design them! she does not wear them! she just gets paid to say shit now and then.

oh and the posters....for about two years, every poster that payless had in thier store (including crappy seasonal trend ones in the back room) had star's face on them. i mean, how creepy is a 10x15 window poster with just star's face on it? very very creepy. especially when you turn the lights off at night to go home and theres a slight breeze from the air conditioning vent and so she's sorta staring at you all bug eyed from out in the dark. not that i would ever stoop to such tactics but certain managers and other associates in stores in the area would paint faces on her. yes, even on the huge window posters. one store even drew a mustache on her, which stayed up for about a month until our dm came by and flipped out. oh and why did all the posters have the same pose/smile on them in the same position on the poster? it was almost like payless only paid her for one picture and then just kept photoshopping on new outfits and jewelry. which, in my opinion, they did, cheap bastards.

oh star and i have some major issues, but im scared to fight her cause she would totally kick my butt. there's something about her that just scares me to the bone.

Bwahahah!  Love your little story.  Not a fan of Star's myself (but really, who is?).
