If anyone remembers, my work is relocating my department to the corportate offices, which means I'm moving to Indianapolis this year. Until now, the date that I'd move has been up in the air. The company thought they'd be able to make a deal with my landlords, and have them let me out of my lease early, but because of the rental market here, I knew that wouldn't happen. If you leave early on a lease here, you either have to keep paying the rent until it's up, or sub-lease (which you can't do to save your life here).
So, based on all that, I knew I didn't want to leave until mid/late summer. I'm not exactly rich, so paying a couple thousand dollars on an empty apartment was not exactly in my budget. I kind of said "Hey, I'm not willing to leave until end of June/early July". But, this was not definite because it hadn't been set in stone with work.
Just got a phone call though, from the HR woman and we decided on July 10th as being my first day of work out in Indy, so I'll be moving the Fri/Sat before.
Yay! It's nice to have an actual date, instead of just a rough time period
yeah, carrie, im so happy for you! ames (right?) was your hometown, right? it's so wonderful to finally leave the "hometown". and indiannaopolis is great, or so ive heard. ive never been there but ive heard good things, but i could sorta be biased cause im in love with both mannings. have you mapped out the exact number of days yet? is the company going to find you an apartment or do you have to take a couple of days and search yourself?
