no, i never start wearing that stuff until later in the season either. it's gotta be pretty warm for me to break out the cotton skirts and stuff like that--i think around late may for me also.
I sort of wear it yearround because it is always so warm. When it gets "cold" I usually just throw on a light sweater and maybe some clogs/boots and that's my cold weather wardrobe. I dress more for the weather than the seasons.

In NorCal I don't wear fall stuff till late November, so by the time the spring stuff comes out (January 1st!?!?) I feel like I haven't really worn my winter stuff yet. I guess since it's warm here through October, I don't mind wearing winter clothes through April (or whenever it starts getting warm).

I came, I saw, I did a little shopping.
I start wearing more transitional stuff at the end of Feb and beginning of March and by the end of March beginning of April I'm usually full on it the spring stuff. Certain things, like little tanks and flip flops don't come out until end of May or beginning of June when it is hot.
Same thing every year. I'm in the SF Bay area--San Jose. Last week of January I put away the sweaters etc and get out the spring stuff. Some years I am already buying the first spring items in the store. We might have a week of 78 degree weather followed by an artic storm with snow down to 2500 feet. Then I get the sweaters back out and the spring stuff just hangs in the closet. Sometimes as late as April and May I am still wearing black wool pantsuits.
I am trying to make my wardrobe more seasonless, but it so far I haven't been able to make it work.
For years I lived in So Cal and then I would wear a lot of things year round, especially lightweight wool blazers and blended fabric skirts and pants.
I know, I know. What a terrible problem. Last year I spent the holidays in Chicago with my son. It was Zero degrees.
I'm in New York city and will wear spring/summer until October/November. I try to wear something springy at least once a week during the fall just to keep up my spirits.
I dress for the weather, not the season too. A lot of my stuff transitions pretty easily too, so it works out well. Usually by the time April rolls around, I've got my full on spring/summer clothes out and the fall/winter clothes are in the other closet.
You can bet I will be wearing warm clothes until it actually gets warm out. Though when it's nearing Spring season I feel silly wearing fall/winter colors. So I will wear sweaters/jackets in pastels than jewel tone colors.
I also dress for the weather. I am a "tropical fish" only happy in a certain temperature between such and such degrees. I get cold very easily so I usually wear many layers thru the spring. Esp in So Cal Rainy season tends to be sporadic from Jan thru April. Anyone remember El Nino? I think I tend to jump to summer clothes when the weather heats up.
Here in LA - I sort of transition to summery colors when I can - but if it's in the 70's in January, I bust them out early. If it feels like summer...I'll wear summer. Plus, it gets cool here at night, so I can have summer and winter in one day

This is how I do it as well, except I usually break out the transitional stuff mid-March or so, then by the end of April it is usually warm enough to start wearing my full-on spring outfits.
Not for a while yet. We have had a pretty mild winter overall (Atlanta) and I don't even feel like I got much use out of my fall clothes!
Plus summers here are ickily humid and I am hoping we'll have some more cold/mild weather before the summer heat makes me feel like melting. I probably won't break out spring stuff until April sometime. April can be an iffy month for us - sometimes beautiful, sometimes cold/rainy/windy, so it might be late April, at that. By then I'll definitely be ready for spring, but for right now I'm still loving sweaters and tights and boots...mmm.
