Bare Minerals

I have a $40 gift card to Sephora and I need some new powder/base (I don't wear liquid foundation). Everyone on here raves about Bare Minerals. I use Stila Illuminating Powder most of the time. What should I get? Is there a kit or individual items? How does it all work? I'm at a loss and need all the info I can get!

I'd get the kit if you haven't tried the products before. It's $60 but will only cost you $20 out of pocket - you get a lot for that amount. I think it's 2-3 brushes, plus a bronzer, two shades of the foundation and the mineral veil, plus instruction book.

I switched to BM in October and love, love, love it.

hey girl

my friend heatha and i both used bare minerals for awhile, and loved it at first, but after awhile we thought it was making us break out, and switched to this

and i love it as much as i loved the bare minerals - but it's cheaper, and so far so good!

i know that doesn't help on what to spend your GC on, but i wouldn't spend the money on the bare minerals - except for their foundation brush - now THAT is a good buy, and it's what i use with my maybelline makeup.

if you have any $ left over you might want to get some nice Fresh products.

i heart Fresh!

I love Bare Minerals. I didn't buy the kit though. I just bought the foundation and the retractable brush. I have oily skin and a cream foundation just doesn't work for me. It looks super natural too, which I also had a problem with cream foundation.

I started with the kit so I could try everything and see what I liked. I sold most of the brushes (i had most of my own) and the cosmetic bag on ebay which was cool b/c I made more than the kit cost I believe or close to it....(it has been awhile but it sold so well I bought another kit to sell just on ebay)  I also went into the store and had a makeover so I could see how to apply the products.

I love bare minerals.  I didn't buy the kit but I have a lot of peices.  I've bought a few TSV from QVC and have gotten a couple blushes, eye color, and the all over colors.

What did you end up keeping out of the kit?
