Edit: Oh, silly me, I thought you were asking what we were all doing on New Year's Day. To answer your question, I was on the bus traveling home from work at midnight. I came home to an empty apartment, because I told my BF to go out and have fun with his friends since I had to work late. It was okay though, I had a couple glasses of wine and watched Law & Order...definately the most tame NYE I have had in awhile.
watched tv, played on the computer. drank a whole bottle of champagne by myself. played board games with the bf, i actually won for once, at life!!! somehow even though im the reader in the family he always wins at scrabble, why is that? i know more words than him. hah...one time he just randomly put out letters and spell yurt...didn't know it was a word but i did!

Actually, after posting about staying home, we ended up going to my mom's (which is only a few minutes away, so it was ALMOST home). We ate chicken fajitas with homemade tortillas and guacamole (so. good. ) and played Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. (I lost at both, but my husband and I played teams, and I think I underestimated him!) It was pretty fun.

relrel, sounds like our nights were very similar...DH and i stayed at home, had some lasagna, a bottle of wine (actually, he doesn't drink wine...so i pretty much drank the whole bottle) and watched some tv. there wasn't any place i would have rather been! happy new year everyone!
Last night we stayed in for the first time in a few years, had chinese food and champagne and watched Il Postino on dvd. It was wonderful. Today we rang in the New Year by going to Home Depot and getting new shelves for our hall closet. So festive.
Ahhh! Loooove that movie. We watched it in Spanish class and I thought it was so cute. Plus Pablo Neruda has amazing poems.
My friend K came over and we went to my neighbor's house and sat by the fire pit for a while then came back and watched about 6/7 episodes of SATC before we crashed.

We stayed home this year, and I'm glad we did. My sister and my husband's brother (they're married to each other) were visiting. We ate steak and crab legs, played cards and watched The 40 Year Old Virgin. It was fun.
Every year some friends of ours throw a themed party and this year it was western/country and they rented a really cool heated barn. We had a chili contest, karoke, line dancing, poker tournament and just hung out. We had a lot of fun. Pics of my cowgirl outfit are in threadstyle
I just went to one of the local college bars here...All was good until some dude wasn't paying attention to his cigarette and burned a hole in my brand new, never worn Hue tights. I was not happy at that point. Stupid, I know, but I was still pissed.
Other than that, the night was fun. Hung out with friends, wore a fun hat
Had bronchitis, so cancelled plans, went to Indian restaurant with fiance (mmmm), watched DVD, drank wine & champagne, made a fire. It was nice, esp. b/c I didn't want to be around smoke at all.
A guy friend and I went to a couple local bars and hung out with rednecks (this town closes completely when students are on break). I loved it. He didn't (he seemed a little worried about being beaten up). We did a godawful kaoroake and everything. So fun! Then we went to his house and I played with his dog and wondered if he was going to make a move on me - I think he's had a crush and it's NYE, so hey, I would have made out with him. But no. I think I repel nice guys, or just scare them. So it was ok. But it would have been more fun if more people were in town.
we went to dinner with 14 other couples at a nice restaurant and then back to one of the couples houses to ring in the new year--the house was crazy amazing--out of metropolitan home or something--
8000 sq feet, completely immaculate, elevator...
