OK so I want to make a gift basket for my daughter to give her when the baby comes. I plan on putting in a video of me and my husband with a special greeting to her, a Big Sister T-Shirt, a journal, and some candy goodies. Does anyone have any other ideas?
I'm making one for my husband too, with a shirt that says "dude who do diapers rule" and some chocolate cigars, maybe a humorous new dad book. I could use ideas for this one too...
Maybe a cute Sister book from Hallmark or Barnes and Noble. You could buy a disposable camera and she can have it to take her own pictures of the new baby and her.
For your husband, I dont know if they sell any albums that says dad and daughter and he too can have a whole album of just him and the baby.
HTH! I will try to think of some more ideas. I love the idea of making a basket for them!!!

My daughter is 6. I love the camera idea, that would make her feel so grown up. GREAT!
Maybe a new movie and/or special toy to facilitate some independant playing time after the baby comes? A coloring book? A lego set?
yeah, i immediately thought of a doll and play-doh. i love the camera idea as well. i was about that age when my little sister was born, so i really liked seeing everything that my mom was doing with her, so maybe if she has a doll she can play with and mimmick you. i remember my mom teaching me how to wrap my baby (swaddle), so maybe you can make sure that her doll has a blanket too.

Funny you bring this up, we already do this and more lately she wants to know everyting about taking care of a baby.

That's cute... my mom still tells stories about how I tried to breastfeed my stuffed bear when I was 5 after seeing her feed my little brother. So embarrassing...
