So, my BF and I have been invited to a combination birthday/New Year's Eve party this year. His friend, the birthday boy, said dress was informal. But since he is a straight man, and therefore highly unlikely to really be a good source for the dress code, I am wondering if I should get a little dressed up. It is New Year's after all, and I love the chance to dress up.
What are your fashion plans for this New Year's? I plan to wear a black chiffon dress, about knee length with 3/4 sleeves, which I ordered from Bluefly today. (I'd post a picture but I can't get it to work.) I'll pair it with black flats to keep it from being too dressy, unless that makes me look dumpy when I try them on together.
I'm not sure yet. My bf and I are going to a house party in LA and I'm sure most people will be super casual. But I really really want to dress up and tried to mention it to my bf a few times and he kind of ignored me. Then the other day he happened to mention that he owns a tux so I "jokingly" said that he should wear it on NYE....and he actually said that it was a good idea. Who knows if he'll actually feel like packing it but if he does I think I might wear this dress with these flats
assuming I can find totally seamless underwear that works under it.
Bex... I sooo love your dress... I bet you willl look stunning on NYE.. Hope you have fun!

All of your outfits are lovely! I am probably going pretty casual this NYE, because we are renting a cabin in the mountains with several friends (there will probably be about 10 of us there) and so NYE is more of a fire/marshmallows/pool table/lakeside, etc. kind of vibe, instead of more "fancy party". And we've done "fancy party" for the last three years, so I am ready for something more laid back. I'll probably be mostly in jeans.
