Does anyone here use YSL Touche Eclat? I've always wanted to try it. It got pretty good reviews on MUA, but I wanted to see what people here thought before I spend $36 on a highlighter.

Does it work well? Is it worth the $36?

eh, I have it, and it works pretty well, but I'm not sure it was worth the $36 - it doesn't perform any miracles or anything, but it does cover my dark circles pretty well.

I haven't tried this yet, but I saw it in my Costco for cheaper. huh. Check there, maybe they have it for not as much money. HTH

I really like it. I have yucky circles and, while it doesn't cover them completely, it really brightens my face a lot and yet doesn't look like I'm wearing any makeup. I'm amazed at how many people think I look well-rested when I haven't slept much in days and it's def. because of this. I also use it around my nose and mouth- basically wherever you have shadows. I also like it because it never, ever cakes around the eyes, in creases, etc. and doesn't look yucky by the end of the day. That said, if you want really opaque coverage, this wouldn't be the thing for that (although, from time to time, I have layered a heavier concealer over it with great results!).

Fairywings, I can't believe you saw it at Costco- I will totally have to check it out- was it a lot cheaper?!

Ditto...I love this product.  It is definitely worth the $$$.

I bought it today, even though I knew I shouldn't have. The girl first tried #2 on me, and it looked absolutely awful, like I rubbed yellow foundation under my eyes. Then she tried #1, and it looked much better. She said I'm one of those rare cases where the pink shade looks good on me (I have pink undertones). Personally, I don't think she knew what she was doing, but we'll see. If it really doesn't work out, I might take it back.

Yeah, I spent $36 on that crap and it does nothing. I think the YSL people hacked into mua and posted rave reviews so everyone would buy it. Not worth it at all.

Wetbandit, I use #1 too... I think, for awhile, that was actually the only color they had. I've actually found #1 looks good on a fair number of people. I never even thought to try the other colors (My skin is really rosey). I hope you like it!

How do you apply it? Sorry that sounds dumb, what I mean is, do you have a special technique? I used it this morning because I didn't sleep much last night, and it didn't make me look any more awake or refreshed.

Hmm... nothing too special... I tend not to wear a bunch of makeup, so after I moisturize, I put on remede's uv coat (it's essentially a tinted sunscreen) to even out my skin. After that dries, I put the ysl under my eyes and in the corners of eyes and also on my lids (even though I'm pale, I seem to have heavily pigmented eyelids) - I bascially just paint it on and then use my fingers to rub it in. I also put it around the sides of my nose and around like my mouth as well because I have shadows. Basically, I think everyone does it a little differently depending on where you have shadows- you know? I do think it's really important to put it in the corners of your eyes since so many people have shadows there and that's the easiest way to brighten up your look. Does this make sense a little?

It's a bummer the woman who helped you wasn't very good- when I bought it, the woman helped me figure out where my shadows were on my face and how to target them (honestly, I never paid much attention to shadows around my nose or mouth, but now, of course, I see what a difference this makes!)...

My mom gave me a half used thing of it, and I like it alright.  If I put it around the corners of my eyes, and around my nose, it really brightens up those areas.  I don't think it's quite heavy enough to use as a concealer, so I use my regular concealer and then put this stuff on top for the brightening effect.

I like it, but I doubt I'll buy it again when I run out.  $36 is a bit steep for a  this.

Thank you! I'll try your tips.

Hmm, I'm really not liking this, but I can't take it back since I am home for break and leaving for Scotland in two weeks. Maybe I need to work on my technique more, but it doesn't seem to do anything for me.
