Anyone have any board games that they think would be good for 3+ year olds and 8+ year olds? My office is buying things for families that don't have much, and the family my dad and I have would like some board games.
We're going to get 3, and so far I'm thinking Candyland and Chutes and Ladders. Any suggestions for the 3rd game?
My big guy (8) likes Battleship, Connect Four, sometime Monopoly (there's kid versions), and The Simpsons Operation. There was an Operation Brain Surgery he used to like. There's a game called Gooey Louie he's wanted for a couple of years where you have to pick stuff out of the guy's nose.
There's a new one for little kids called Buckaroo that looks cute. And Chicken Limbo and Silly 6 Pins. My little ones really like Penguin Pat a lot, but I'd say you'd need to be at least 4 to play it correctly.
I was and still am a game freak. We even had a subscription to some magazine called Games when I was a kid.
i LOVED games magazine - my mother got it, and a few years ago i found some old unfinished ones in the basement and had a blast with them. i wonder if they still make it....
and carries, sorry to hijack, but i think you've gotten a ton of great suggestions!
These all sounds great- I just want to mention though that you probably should get something that needs batteries. If the family doesn't have much, that's really the last thing they need to be buying!
