It's finals season and some poor first-year law student just had a hyper-ventilating panic attack in the middle of the library. She passed out three times and was yelling at her boyfriend and trying to convince everyone to let her take her final anyway (this was about 20 minutes before the test was supposed to start). And EVERYONE JUST IGNORED HER or gave her funny looks and laughed. I hate law school for these people.
I helped get her to a couch where she could sit down while one of her friends got the dean. And this randomn guy sitting next to where we sat her wouldn't leave!!!!!!! I told him "She's having a hard time right now so it might be nice of you to give her some space..." and he said "I know she's having a hard time..." and glared at me!!!!!!! And kept typing!!!!!! If I ever see his snotty little ass again I am going to rip him a new one. I have not been so mad and fed up with this place in a long time. What is wrong with people? No freaking compassion at all. Just go, go, go... argghhhhh..... What is wrong with these people? I can see not getting involved, but acting like she's a funny addition or some annoying hindrance to your busy day is just weird. At least they didn't circle and stare.
It is sad how some people have no consideration for the pain of others. You helped, Dizzy. But of course you did! You are a decent person. It amazes me how some people are just so......freakin oblivious!! The same guy who refused to move would be shocked if nobody helped him if he was in a difficult spot. Try not to lose faith in humanity!! I still believe the good people outweigh the bad. Just look at how many members there are on ST!! All good people!!
Sometimes it's like a circus and you're the little kid in the audience watching, isn't it? I don't know what makes people want to go to law school but whatever it is (excluding obvious examples of good peeps), it's bad. I've never been to a place filled with such creeps. Especially in finals season.
Good for you for doing something decent. I bet it was odd to have positive actions in that place... (if it's anything like my law school, that is).
