Can you please help me find some boots...I have had NO time to look.
I need some warm - weatherproof boots. I am anti-ugg.
I would like them to be tall boots I can wear under or over jeans, I dont like real fur - but they can have faux fur on them - wedge heel would be nice. Any color. they need to be stylish - but practical and under $200 - TIA!
I love these - who makes and where can I get them?
also love these fryes - but the wooden clog would last two seconds in the wet/snow/salt... I almost bought them but for the price, and extremely dry weather conditions required (which are few and far between) I passed...

detroit, those first boots are by Sugar and are at Macy's. Also, I thought honey was looking at those fryes for snow boots and said they have a rubber thread on the bottom? Maybe they were a different style???

Detroit, the brand is Sugar and they're called the Parka Boot. They used to sell them at Macy's.com, but the last time I checked they were sold out. Here's a link to another place to buy them. They even have little pockets inside them for cash or whatever, and they're really lightweight. I'm a 7 1/2 and ordered both the 7 and the 8, not knowing which would fit best....I kept the 8.
yeah, i was looking at the low heeled version of those boots, and they had a rubber tread, or some sort of groove action going on. i'm sure the high heeled version would have the same thing.

no - not a different style. yes they have a rubber tread on the bottom, but Michigan and New York are very similar in depth of snow, wetness and salt - it's not limited to a thin covering on the surface of sidewalks - you are often up to your ankles or more in it when navigating to your car or a building or on sidewalks or when you get stuck and need to get out of your car in deep snow, or if you're running out to get the newspaper, or a multitude of other situations. I have wooden heel shoes and the heels got water stains from just getting wet from rain - I couldn't imagine wood soles in northern winter...

yeah, i actually decided this morning that i'm not going to get them. as a test run i wore a pair of fryes to work (it's snowy & icky) and water still leaked in. now i have wet socks.
jmr, i'm not much help, but i saw these merrell boots that i really like
i'm hesistant on them b/c i don't think they're completely weatherproof (that's a big priority for me). but if you don't have to trudge through tons & tons of snow they might work.
this is probably a really dumb question, but are regular leather boots not okay in snow? like the water gets in around the seams and stuff? or do you guys buy wintry snow-boots just because they are warmer with fur?
i have a pair like this. would they be bad for walking around and shopping in NYC in the current snowy weather?
Bumblebee, most of my boots are like the ones you posted, and I haven't had any problems wearing them in the snow. But they don't keep you feet warm at all, so I wear warmer socks.
JMR, I just saw these at Nine West and thought they were cute!
bumblebee -- i would wear boots like that for walking around the day after it snow and they've had a chance to clean the streets, etc. but i wouldn't wear them when it's snowing. unfortunately, i don't have the option of staying in everytime it snows, so i need hardcore boots.
these are $123 at zappos. the brand is timberland. i really like these, but no wedge heel.
i have the Kors wedge heel ones and they don't really provide traction, but i still wear them and just make my bf hold my hand. i plan on buying these marc jacobs ones that i posted earlier. they have a wedge heel, but i don't think they would be the best for snow either.
these are cute but $218 :( la canadienne is the brand
$152, cute, but leather.
