go to circuit city/best buy and get the setup for the car there.  Then you just subscribe to it (not sure if you can do it there or you have to call sirius).  Also they can install it for you (you can buy it now and come back after the holidays if its a gift)

you still need the sirius receiver I believe even though the stupid cd player is satellite radio ready (that is how my ex's worked but I don't have it so I really don't know).  I think that just means you don't need a converter kit or anything and then you would have to subscribe to the service which you can do month to month or yearly which is a tad cheaper.

are you dead-set on sirius? I would strongly recommend looking into XM radio as well. http://www.xmradio.com/

you may want to call them to find out if your radio is compatable as well.

Same reason I'm getting it for my boyfriend!  LOL.  I'm just getting my boyfriend something like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7442635&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat10400050005&id=1124432561952 w/the home adapter kit, so he can run it through the receiver he has and listen to it either at home or in the car.

I haven't gone to best buy yet to see if I can subscribe to Sirius through them, but if not, just go to www.sirius.com and sign up - they give you instructions on how to hook it up, etc.

as part of the shows Stern is bringing to Sirius, every night they will have this woman doing phone sex for a half hour (heard about this in his 60 minutes interview).  apparently, there's also real-life crack whores that will have a show too...  nice...

I really want to get it for my boyfriend too - Sirius.  I've been looking into it and am so overwhelmed by the choices and don't know where to begin.  What Sirius Radio do you think is the best without spending $300 on a receiver?  Anybody have any advice?

Yeah you can have it at home..you just have to have a stereo receiver to run it through - otherwise you have to buy one.  Check out the link I posted above..that's what I'm going to buy my BF and I'll just buy the home adapter kit.

My Bf just got Sirius, he went to Best Buy and paid $150 w/ a $50 mail in rebate. Then he paid for the 1st yr up front, and it was $12.99 a month. He said if you do it for 2 yrs it gets a little bit cheaper and, they also have an option where you can pay something like $399 and get it forever or something. And I know that he chose Sirius because he said you can only get most of the sports station on Sirius
