As you girls know, I just got these adorable brown boots from my FMIL.  Now here's my dilemma.  Both of my main winter coats are black.  I have one baby blue coat, but I don't wear it a ton because it's short.  I also have 2 white puffy coats but same thing - they are waist length and I don't wear them as much as the black.  I have to commute in the freezing cold Chicago weather every day to work, and my dilemma is - how will I wear these boots to/from work w/a black coat?  Do I need to buy a tan or brown longer coat?  Or should I only wear these to look cute and stick to my regular snow boots for work? Help me!

I think you can mix brown winter boots with a black coat. Mixing these colors is becoming alot more acceptable now. Maybe even look for a brown and black striped scarf or something to work them in together. but either way I say it's fine. I wear my brown UGGS with a black North Face coat all the time.

I agree with Collette. I like to think it's like mixing chocolate and licorice - they can look great together.

I do not think you need to get a brown coat...I def think you can wear the boots with your black coats

I mix brown and black on purpose sometimes. It looks cooler than sticking to all black or all brown.

Do you mean post a picture of myself wearing them?  If you do, I would love to, but I can't because I don't have a digital camera yet...it'd have to wait until after xmas.   Also, if you are planning on ordering them online - they aren't available.  I got mine in the actual store.
