Yup, I tried on the lighter color at the J Crew store near me. It is very soft, and is a little longer than most of their sweaters. The V-neck didn't flatter me so I didn't buy it, but I was sad because I thought it was a gorgeous sweater. You should definitely get it!

Oh - then you can help me!!  Is it longer as shown on the model? True To Size? And is there a sparkle in the sweater as described??

Just wanted to tell you that there are a few Jcrew sweaters on ebay, I'm not familiar with Jcrew prices, but I bet the ebay ones are le cheap!
