I read in another post that you use a kiehl's hair product. I didn't even know they made hair products. Anyways, I'm in need of a new shampoo and have tried about every kind of aveda shampoo, but am interested in trying kiehl's. Do you have any suggestions? I have dry, heat stressed hair .

Here's a link to their shampoos, conditioners, treatments and styling aids for dry/damaged hair:

I've never used any of these before (I have fine hair), but I've like all the products I've tried from them.  You can fill out a profile there and it'll tell you which products would be best based on your answers.  You also get 3 free samples when you order from them.

This code - GIVING - is good for free shipping through 12/8 when you spend $30 or more.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I've tried just about every product under the sun for my hair (also dry and heat stressed - it's curly, and I straighten it, plus live in a super-dry climate) and by far the best I've found is the Loreal Professional line. I use the Liss Extreme shampoo, which smooths flyaways and assists straightening, and the extreme moisturizing conditioner. It's a little pricey (about $45 for both) but so so so worth it.

About Aveda - I have found (and heard from stylists) that their products are designed for people with normal to oily hair and skin, so supposedly it is not the best if you are dry. This is supposed to be true even of their makeup and skin stuff.

I receieved a sample of the Kiehl's Amin Acid shampoo, and I loved it. I've never bought a bottle of their shampoo though. I am currently using Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco shampoo, and I love it. It's moisturizing, and it makes my hair look very healthy. It's a bit pricey though ($20 for an 8 oz. bottle) and I would not recommend buying the Creme de Coco conditioner - doesn't seem to work nearly as well as the shampoo, IMO.

The B&B Creme de Coco got pretty good reviews at Makeup Alley.

I've used Kiehl's Creme With Silk Groom for about 4 years now, and I love it.  A big bottle lasts FOREVER.  It's a great product for frizzy hair and it is an amazing deal when you figure in the cost per use.  I've used other products off and on through the years, but I always have this.
