Help me! My BF and I would like to get my parents a nice gift - something they can use together, for Christmas, but I cannot think of anything. Can you girls post some ideas you might have? Or maybe something you're getting your own parents? TIA!
The best gift we have given our parents are various restaurant gift cards. We will do like $30 to several restaurants. I know it sounds "non-personal", but they love going out to eat but don't do it as much as they want to because it just gets expensive! We did this for abouta few year & now when we don't they seem kind of disappointed.

my mom is kind of technology-slow. she had an ancient computer with dial up last year ! so i got her a new computer; i spent 350 and was done. now i have no idea what to get her.
but maybe a new computer is an option? that all i can think of.

every now and then i run out of ideas for my parents. they have this "i don't want anything" attitude that drives me crazy so i never get any ideas from them. this year i'm getting them this monogrammed wool/cashmere throw:
If you're looking for something they can enjoy together, how about tickets to some event, like a play or musical? Or if that isn't up there alley, maybe a sporting event? I got my parents tix to Mamma Mia a few years back and they absolutely loved it. Its something they never would have gotten for themselves.
I really like the ideas of either dinner gift certificates or tickets to a show. Maybe Wicked since thats in town? Keep the ideas coming girls - this is very helpful!
Bigger items we've given recently: Dishwashers, garbage disposals, computers, dishes. Something everyone in the family can appreciate/use since they're a little on the expensive side.
We've also done the restaraunt GC thing, as well as movie theatre GCs - those always go over well since seeing a movie is like $20 now!

we usually take my parents out for a poshy dinner. it's something they wouldn't do themselves and they get two things they want: to spend time with my husband and i, and a nice dinner.
My brother and I are pitching in to get them a digital camera since they are always taking pictures.
Haha - that's exactly what they are getting me and the BF!
I really like the idea of maybe sending them to a show. Would Wicked be good? They barely ever get to do a night out on the town, so maybe that and a dinner certificate, or is that too much? Thanks girls!
