The other day while shopping I came across a really cute sweatshirt in a store that I despise. I don't even know why I went in, but now I can't stop thinking about it. Anyway the problem with this store (Aritizia, they call themselves a "Mall Boutique" but carry Sevens, Juicy, etc) is the SA's are horrible- they are so rude and demeaning, they smirk and roll their eyes if you ask for any size other than XS. Also they make you lock up your purse, bags and coat in a locker as long as you're in the store. And are just generally catty and unhelpful.

Anyway, this sweatshirt (long, tunic length but cut really lean and sleek) is part of their housebrand TNA. So I won't be able to find it anywhere else and they don't have a online order system. Also the one store I was in didn't have my size, I needed a small and they wouldn't check the other store for me. (Although I would like to try on a medium also just to compare) If I wanted it they could order for me but I'd have to pre-pay then if it didn't fit or whatever I could return it with a "restocking fee". That drives me crazy, I feel like I'm being punished to shop in their store.

So should I...

-get the horrid SA's to order my size at the closer store and pay the fees if necessary

-drive 40 mins across town to the other location to see if they have it

-look for something comparable on the net (not much luck with this so far)

-forget it, bad customer service doesn't deserve your business

i voted for the other store, but really bad cs doesn't deserve your money. will calling the other store first help at all, or are the sa's gonna be witches in the other store too? i would actually suggest calling the company, telling them that you really wanted this sweatshirt but that the sa's wouldn't help you at all to find the sweatshirt. weasle a giftcard out of them for the cost of the shirt plus the restocking fee, or see if you can get it shipped directly to your house.

restocking fees are the bane of my existence. i worked retail for six years of my life and my whole entire job (cept for the ringing of the register) was spent in stocking and restocking. i find it completely immoral on the company's part to charge for a service that is already somebody's job. it's not like those poor overworked sa's are gonna see some part of that restocking fee when it's really only affecting them to do the restocking. i actually refuse to shop in stores that a. have restocking fees, and b. have bad customer service. seriously, once you piss me off i will NEVER shop in that particular store, if it happens at more than one store, a letter gets written to the company and after spending any gift card that im sent (which actually happens quite a bit, gap sent me 50$ once!) i don't shop there anymore, at least at the brick and mortar stores. once on the banned list, always on the banned list. (sorry to go off on a ramble there)

Ugh they sound horrid!!!  I vote for calling the other store and seeing if they have it in your size before you drive all the way over there.  If they don't I would just check back in a week or two to see if they restock it in the store.  I am not a fan of ordering something you've never tried on from a store you rarely buy from because chances are you are going to get the wrong size and then have to return it, reorder it, and be stuck with that darn restocking fee!!

But if you absolutely love it and can't live without it then go for it.

I'm gonna 2nd lsubatgirl -- call the other store first, then drive there. Those SAs sound like the snotty ones who work at my Anthropologie. I am sorry. Are they snotty at all the stores, or just yours? Maybe the other store will be more helpful?
