My best friend told me she is preg. Since I will not be having babies for some time (single) I am super excited to be able to spoil someone elses kid. I have so many presents picked out already.
I am thinking baby shower, but we both agree nothing too babyshowerish ie games, pink, storks... She said friends, cake, presents. Which I am so glad about. When is a babyshower generally given. I have no clue about baby stuff.
Any suggestions for gifts. things that you think she must have that she may not know yet etc.
We think twins may be a possibility they are in her family and skip a generation-she is up. She also decided not to find out if it is a boy or a girl. I was outraged. I have to know. I told her I could not handle 9 mos of suspense so we are giving the dr. a self addressed stamped envelope and I am getting my answer in a few weeks yeah!!!!!
Congrats! It's cool that you're so excited. As for when to give a baby shower, they're usually given a little bit farther down the road so the parents have time to register for everything they'll need. Usually the mom is big and fat (teehee!) when showers are given.
Woohoo! Congrats to the soon to be auntie! My friends got really psyched when I was pregnant also, which was amazing to me!
If you want to do something early you can always have a pampering party of some sort and stock her up on things she will need to help get her through nine months of pregnancy:
comfy slippers and robe
manicure/pedicure set
some good boos, or puzzles or even a craft set of some sort
a "expecting baby" scrapbook to put together
coupons for dinners out or movies
I'll try to come up with some more ideas if you like...
Hee! I'm sure you meant books but seriously, isn't it one of life's cosmic jokes that the time when you probably need a drink on a regular basis (body changing, added responsibility, etc.) is the one time in life you can't?
