I won this rainbow/handknit/shrug/capelet thing on eBay last night and am wondering how to make an outfit out of it. I don't want a casual outfit but I don't want it *too* dressy/office-y if that makes any sense...
I am especially wondering what to wear under it - silk cami? What colour? Anyway here's pics:

Miaaaa! I love it. Of course. Umm I'm feeling uninspired right now though. For a totally casual look I'd wear it with a cotton tank and jeans. For something in-between I think a silk cami sounds awesome maybe a nice jersey tank too but I think the contrast between the knit and the silk would be really nice. Maybe paired with slouchy trousers? I'm totally blanking on color combos but I think it would look nice with a yellow or brown top. I'll come back when I'm feeling more creative.
I was thinking last night that for a more dressy look it would be really cute over a wool sheath dress but I can't find pictures of ones that I like. I also saw tons of cute printed dresses on Bluefly that would look nice with it in the spring.
I'm lazy and there's a horrible glare blinding me but this is what I was thinking...
i love cc's slouchy pants/silky cami ideas. i would try to wear a light color on top, though, because it will probably shed. i have a brown/black/shimmery tan one and i tried to wear it over a black top one time--big mistake!
I love everyoen else's suggestions. I just thought, even though you're on the West Coast, if you wanted to winter-ize it...
Here's a warm weather option. Sorry don't know about colors but I'm jus tlooking at shapes.
Also for the office, what about a pencil skirt and then topped with a long sleeve or short sleeve shirt. Something close to body to really let your capelet stand out.
