This J.Crew dress for the party season
Permalink Closed

I haven't made up my mind yet but I've been thinking of ordering this J.Crew silk dress for the holiday season - but in espresso. I'd like to be able to wear it to the opera, too.

What do you think, ladies? I think I could dress it down a bit by pairing it with a cropped cardi and a pair of wedges. For a more festive look I'd wear it with a wrap or pashmina. Any ideas for a wrap and shoes?

but in espresso:

Do you think these metallic wedge slingbacks would look nice with it? TIA!

Absolutely on the dress - perfection for what you want to do with it.

I'm hesitant on the shoes though - not feeling them with that style of dress. Something with a nice kitten heel would be beautiful though. I'm sure Lmonet will be along shortly to post some great shoe options. *s*

Indeed .  Wouldn't want to disappoint now, would we?

I agree that the dress calls for a more delicate shoe, I do like the bronze/metallic color with the espresso dress though.  Gap has tons of wraps (some on sale) right now, as does Target.

Thanks, ladies! You're right about the shoes - I do need a more delicate pair of heels to go with the dress.

LMonet, you always come up with loads of great suggestions - how do you do it?

Hedvig, lovely dress.

LMonet, love how you are so good at putting the whole outfit together. I really like some of the shoes you suggested - been looking for something like that for the holidays.

Like the prices on the 3rd row from top and the 4th row, 2nd one is sooo elegant! Same for the next one after that.

Could you tell me where you found them? I hope I can find them in my size. Thanks

The ones in the 3rd row are from Payless, the ones in the 4th row are from Nordstrom .
