Nordstrom standard shipping - how long?

I ordered my mom's birthday present from Nordstroms on Monday night via the internet. After thinking about it, I decided it would be best to upgrade to the 2 day shipping (her birthday is Tues 22nd). So i called Tues morning about 8:00 & they said no problem, charged me the additional $7.50, and shipped it that day - STANDARD SHIPPING. So how long does that usually take? It is just making me nervous because it's the first present my stepdad ever had me get for her from him & I might have screwed it up! It says 5-8 business days - if she doesn't get it by Tuesday I'll be pissed.

When you mail order, how long does it usually take for you to receive your package? Do they send it first class USPS or does it go some long way around the world? Mail there still isn't right since the hurricane, so UGHHHHH. I held for 15 minutes this morning & have sent them an email, but it's early.

It should probably get there in time. I ordered a wristlet from Nordstrom during their summer sale, and it got there in less than a week. Good luck!!

i think it all depends on where their distribution center is (which i think it is in WA but not sure) on how long it takes.  call them back and ask them to track it for you or give you the tracking number.  that way you can search it yourself to see when it is going to arrive

i've ordered makeup from online before and a lot of times it will come from a chicago store.  if it's something that only comes from online, i usually have it in three days with the $5 shipping.  chicago is pretty centrally located though.

Thanks ladies - as it turns out, they did indeed send it 2 day, but I sent it to my sister's office & no one was there at 4:15 - she was all defensive that she left early but the secretary was there, uh, guess not! But Nordies refunded me the $7.50 additional charge since they didn't get it there yesterday and they are going to redeliver today. Best of both worlds! They surely didn't have to do that!
