i tried, i looked at banana and they don't have a similar one with buttons, only a zipper which is less dressy to me.

they aren't showing the fur collar online. i don't know why it's not in the photo. maybe to help me so that i don't impulsively purchase $200 sweaters...

I really love that sweater. I think it would be best to wait for a sale though. J. Crew always has really good sales.

it is on sale, and it's 25% additionaly off the sale price, so i think it would be somewhere around $150 before taxes. i really like it. i am torn. i really could use that $150 for xmas shopping, etc.

I like zeitgeist4's suggestion. Try to come up with at least 5 different outfits for the sweater. If you can, then get it. If not, then forget it.

Can you call custmoer service? J. Crew's is really helpful about things...maybe they can find one for you or something, because you do need it.

About the boots they sat in my closet for about 2 weeks unworn...so I eventually returned them

but off the top of my head I'd think...cord skirts, denim skirts...gauchos maybe? They were not getting enough rotation in my closet...maybe they'd have a better chance in yours..

the problem is that my default color is black, so i don't really have that much in brown and maybe that's why they aren't getting any rotation in my closet either.

couldn't find the max studio sweater online.

i called j.crew last night and that one is completely sold out. boo! so now i am continuing the hunt. there's a zippie front one at BR, but the fur is not as pretty--kind of stuffed-animal looking.
