I haven't ever bought any C&C cashmere, but it's a cute sweater. Here's a review of C&C cashmere from stylediary.net:
"It’s not a surprise that C&C has done so well. The company blazed onto the specialty store/boutique scene just two years ago and has quickly become one of the top – if not the top – brands in the casual basic market. Known for super-soft, lightweight and ultra-comfortable materials and bold, pop-art colors, C&C’s tees and tanks offered weary shoppers a break from the usual black and white neutrals that had been on heavy rotation among James Perse and Juicy Couture.
In just a few short weeks, it seemed every girl in town was working some C&C color combo – Lipstick with Lemon Slushy, Wasabi with Swamp, Love Lace with Dark Earth and so on. With the extra long lengths and unique styles, C&C tees layered perfectly and punched up even simplest outfit. Everybody, it seemed, became hooked.
Within the past year, the designers have ventured beyond the tee and into everything from dresses to hoodies and pants, all with the same continued success as seen before. Not to be outdone, of course, is the new cashmere line, which is new this season and already a popular sell out in stores. With the delicious, candy colors and cool, signature C&C shapes (designs include short, puff and extra long sleeve, just like the tees!), I like many couldn’t resist snagging up one of the new styles.
Overall, I love this collection! C&C set the cashmere at a relatively fair price ($130 for the short sleeve tee, for example) so what you get in terms of cost feels very reasonable. The pieces are fun and fashionable, great in terms of value for knocking around. For me, not every cashmere buy has to be ultra high end – in fact, finding something this cute and workable at such a reasonable cost is fantastic for my closet! The collection is very wearable and workable, yet doesn’t have to be handled with kid gloves.
The knit itself is single ply, so it’s great for slightly warmer climates or for layering when it’s cold. Though the feel at first seemed a very tiny bit scratchy, even some of the highest end cashmere I’ve purchased has had this until after a first washing, and I expect the C&C will as well. Again, at $130 - $200 price points, it's very fair in terms of cost versus quality.
With regard to fit, the collection runs fairly true to the size you’d take in their cotton, to just slightly bigger. The bell sleeve style I purchased fits perfectly in Small but I could have easily fit into X-Small if needed. Once on, it is very lightweight, but nothing that would require you to worry about your bra showing through. Again, this is great if you’re in a warmer climate or intend to layer, as I will definitely do with mine.
In terms of wearability, C&C once again nails it. The bell sleeve sweater is so cute (I got it in teal) and goes with everything. I love it with skirts, jeans, layered over print thermals, you name it. The fit is very basic, as with C&C’s cotton tees, so it’s very easy to work with and can be dressed up or down for play or office.
In fact, I liked the collection so much I snagged a short sleeve sweater too! While this isn’t by any means Malo-level cashmere, with the colors, styles, workability and price point, I feel that C&C’s cashmere is definitely worth a look if not a buy!
The Specifics:
Material: 100% cashmere
Sizing: Very similar to what you’d take in the C&C cotton though mine feel a tiny bit larger.
Price: $130 - $185 (depending on style)
Care: Hand wash as you would with any cashmere or wool piece."
