What are you wearing to Thanksgiving?

For the American girls: what are you planning to wear on Thanksgiving??

I haven't come up with anything yet, and I was thinking if I saw other people's ideas it would jog my memory of something great in my closet.

I almost didn't answer this because I know it's not what you want to hear, but I think it's so amusing that I'm going to share anyway...NO ONE COPY ME EITHER!!!

I'll be digging crystals in Arkansas, so i was instructed that whatever I wore would have to be tossed due to the red clay issues. so...

Groddy old sweatshirts, quite literally "mom" jeans - in addition to the fact that they are high waisted, have tapered legs, and don't even hit my ankles, I got them from my mom's stash that she is selling in her garage sale, and rubber boots. I really am going to have to post those pictures.

I am sure someone else will give you good ideas though!

Since I can't buy a new outfit, I have been searching my closet for a "new" outfit.  This is what I am thinking:

   Raspberry-colored tulip (?) Anthro skirt

   Brown embellished Express cami

Cream Limited cardigan with satin tie

I think I need some new shoes to complete the outfit (I am thinking bronze), so will probably hit up Target or something really cheap.

I'd like to wear something like this:

But do I actually own any of these things?  No.  Do I have money to buy them?  No.

since my aunt's family is getting crazy big (six girls almost all married with kids, their bfs/husbands with THEIR families) my mom decided that she doesn't want to feel like strangers at her own thanksgiving, so it will be my immediate family, and maybe my aunt that i don't like .  she thinks i'm living in sin with my bf.    so i might wear black lipstick and all black to that.

the day after is my grandpa's birthday.  i think i'm wearing..

BCBG Max Azria Sequin Tulle Skirt with Craig Taylor 'Grace' Pulp Fiction Shirt and similar shoes.  it's his 80th so it's a party.

Nothing fancy this year - we are not traveling (first time in nearly four years!) and no one is coming to us either, so we are making fresh turkeys and bringing some extra to another couple we know. She is pregnant with their second daughter (due 12/1) and won't feel up to much, so we're just going casual. I'll probably be in jeans and a sweater, since we'll be hanging out and playing with their first daughter, who is two now.

Hey laken1!  I'll be in Mena for T-giving which is about an hour from Mt. Id I think.  Digging for crystals sounds like fun.  Please post about the experience when you return.

Too bad, Mount Ida is about 4 hours south of me, so no turkey for you (said in my Seinfeld soup nazi voice )

I was just talking to my mom about this today. She's wearing a fancy suit... we always dress up because we eat out. Here are what I'm considering...

1. Anthro dress and green heels. My mom thinks I should wear this but it may be too dressy.

2. I've posted this outfit before, but I love it so much. Velvet 3/4 sleeve top, Target zebra skirt, Ann Taylor green suede boots

SFC, I really really love the second outfit too.  It looks festive but completely appropriate.

I will probably wear one of these:

brandywine turtleneckindian summer top

withsalt ave. a abstractSeychelles Pleated Wedge

And if it's cold my new coat and a vintage scarf:

I think I'll wear this silk/velvet jacket and winter white pants.  I'll probably wear a brow cami underneath and either gold or bronze shoes.  Another option would be to wear the jacket with brown pinstripe pants.

How cute would I look in this?

Ha!  Just kidding.  My family is very casual attire for this event.  I can guarantee you it will be jeans and my new pink AE sweater.

i keep forgetting next thurs is thanksgiving. i am tentatively going to *two* thanksgiving dinners. my bff from highschool is having one on weds, and then my family's on thurs. although i am being guilt-tripped by my inlaws that we were at my family for thanksgiving last year so i don't know now...

probably jeans and a sweater to my friend's thanksgiving, and a nice dress to my family/inlaws.
