I have those second ones. I wear a 4 and the small fits very tightly (to the point where I wonder if I should have gotten a M)... don't know if that's any help to you.

I think I have the power panties.. and they go WAY above my belly button. Like there is only maybe 3 inches between the Spanx and my bra. I think you would be fine with those.

Mine came in A, B C, D, E sizing.. I'm not sure if they all come that way.. I have been getting confused when the girls just say Small, I guess that is just A?

Anyway, I am an 8 or 10 and got a C. They fit perfect.. Not too loose and I don't break sweat getting them on either (if you know what i mean) :)

I know this doesn't answer your question, but here are my $.02. I debated getting some spanx to wear under my wedding dress, I went to the store and the woman working there told me they were going to be really hot and I didn't need them. I ended up not wearing them and I was really glad I didn't. I was so hot under my wedding dress that I couldn't imagine how hot I would have been if I was wearing them. I got married in the woods in September, it wasn't that hot out. I am happy with my pictures and I don't think the spanx would have made a difference (maybe just mentally). I don't know if this helps, but it sounds like you are tiny anyway. Just some food for thought...

The power panties come in A, B, C, D, E sizing and the 'mid thigh slimmers' come in Sm, Med, Lg, ExLg. Do you have the regular power panties or the 'higher power' panties?

I have higher power panties. They are great. I would be worried about a bulge otherwise on my waistline.

I can't remember my size, but they have a height/weight chart on the back of the package that helped me pick the right size.

LMonet, I have the Higher Power panties & I think we're about the same body size.

I'm 5'0", 115 lbs (trying to lose 5 ) and I bought size A - they're pretty tight fitting, not loose at all. I was also worried about my tummy bulging over the top, but amazingly it just holds everything in. It gives me the apperance of a toned tummy.

Ok I live in spanx, I have several pairs of the power panties, and I don't find them hot at all. I also have a pair of the higher ones and don't feel the suck in as well as the power panties. Just get a pair and take them with you to a dress fitting and decide whether or not you need them. Personally I think that they are a lifesaver and even my smallest friends use them. Good luck!

Hmmm, okay. Maybe I'll just order both (from Figleaves, so free shipping and prepaid returns ) and see how far I can zip my dress up with each .

I'm not worried about bulging over the top - my stomach is flat, just my waistline starts to get a little thicker than I'd like when I gain a few pounds, and I'd just like some of the definition back. I would definitely be the smallest size that they offer, I was just afraid that the higher power panties would be cut overwhelmingly for my frame - I don't want anything so high that could double as a strapless bra too!

Chic - do your regular power panties come up high enough to help define your waistline?

Has anyone measured their waistline/hips before the spanx and again wearing them? How much of a difference do they make size-wise, if at all?

I am pretty sure I have the Higher Power ones. (I don't think I realized there were so many choices!)

Mine were not hot either by the way. I wore them under a full length Aline bridesmaids dress this weekend. The dress was cut slim and they were a lifesaver.. They also helped hide my belly-button ring (which was originally showing through my dress.)

The power panties come up as high as you pull them, basically to under the bra line. I use them for tummy control and bump control versus thigh control. I love them because they are the only ones that I can wear and feel comfortable. Look around for some codes for the spanx though, because I ordered a bunch a while back for 50% off. I think I posted it a while ago. I will search.

Thanks for responding, Chic! The coupon that was posted expired, but I have plenty of time so I signed myself up on their mailing list and will keep an eye out for codes. If one never shows up, I'll get them through Figleaves just to take advantage of the free shipping (and the $10 off coupon I got from Reesycakes).

I think I'll just go with regular old power panties then - they're the cheapest and also have the most potential to be used for under regular clothes too.

just wanted to make sure you know, the higher power and the power panty both have a seam that runs down the middle.. so if your dress is a thinner material (can't remember what it looks like) it is possible you could see the seam... I had to buy a special seamless style of spanx that was like, $75 to wear with my silk BM dress...
